TOTO TET2UBI432#SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the TOTO TET2UBI432#SS a urinal valve or a toilet flush valve?
It's a toilet flush valve. TOTO's TET2UBI432#SS is a concealed electronic flush valve rated at 1.0 gallon per flush, so it is specified for water closets, not urinals. Urinal valves run much lower flush volumes, so don't substitute this one onto a urinal fixture.
2) What flush volume does the TOTO TET2UBI432#SS deliver, and will it meet a 1.28 gpf spec?
The valve flushes at 1.0 gallon, which is below a 1.28 gpf allowance, so it satisfies a spec written at 1.28 gpf or higher. If the drawing calls for a 1.6 gpf valve matched to an older high-volume bowl, pair carefully: the bowl has to be designed to clear at 1.0 gallon.
3) Does the TOTO TET2UBI432#SS mount in the wall or on the exposed side of the fixture?
Concealed. The valve body is designed to sit behind the finished wall with only the sensor plate exposed, so the chase has to be open and accessible during rough-in. If the wall is already closed and tiled, an exposed sensor flush valve is the easier retrofit.
4) Is the TOTO TET2UBI432#SS a sensor flush valve or a manual handle valve?
It's electronic and sensor operated, not a manual lever. TOTO lists it as an IOT EFV (electronic flush valve), so the user never touches the valve, which is why it gets specified in airports, schools, healthcare, and high traffic public restrooms. If you want a no-power, no-battery solution, you need a manual or piston diaphragm valve instead.
5) What is the exact part number to order for the TOTO concealed 1.0 gpf electronic toilet flush valve?
Order TOTO TET2UBI432#SS. The #SS suffix is TOTO's finish code carried on the part number, and that full string is the manufacturer part number, so give it to your distributor exactly as written to avoid landing on a urinal or 1.28 gpf version of the same family.
6) Can I standardize a whole restroom group on the TOTO TET2UBI432#SS?
For water closets, yes, and that's the usual reason it gets picked: one concealed electronic valve across every stall means one spare part, one service procedure, and one flush volume at 1.0 gallon across the facility. Urinals in the same room will still need their own valve, since this one is a toilet application.
