TOTO THP5636#BN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is the TOTO THP5636 part - the whole slide bar or just the bracket?
THP5636#BN is a slide bar wall bracket with the TOTO mark on it, a replacement component for a TOTO shower slide bar rather than a complete bar assembly. If your slide bar itself is damaged or missing, this bracket alone won't get you there - you need the bar. Order this when the mounting bracket is what failed.
2) What does the #BN suffix mean on TOTO part numbers like THP5636?
On TOTO plumbing parts, the code after the # is the finish designation. THP5636#BN is the Brushed Nickel version of this slide bar wall bracket. If the other trim in the shower is polished chrome or another TOTO finish, the #BN bracket will not match - match the suffix to the rest of the valve trim and handshower.
3) Will the TOTO THP5636 bracket fit a Delta, Moen or Kohler slide bar?
Treat it as a TOTO-only part. It is a TOTO slide bar bracket carrying the TOTO mark, sized to TOTO's own bar, and there is no cross-brand fit stated for it. If you're repairing another manufacturer's slide bar, source the bracket from that brand.
4) I manage apartments with TOTO shower bars - can I stock this bracket as a standard repair part?
Yes, that's the usual case for it. A slide bar wall bracket is the part that takes abuse when a handshower gets yanked or a resident hangs weight on the bar, and TOTO sells it separately as THP5636 so you replace the bracket instead of the whole bar. Stock it in the finish that matches your units - this one is the Brushed Nickel (#BN) version.
5) Is the TOTO THP5636 bracket for a shower or a tub installation?
Both. The bracket is specified for shower and tub applications, which is where TOTO slide bars are typically used to carry a handshower on a wall-mounted bar over a tub deck or in a shower stall.
6) Does the THP5636 bracket come in other finishes besides brushed nickel?
The part ordered as THP5636#BN is Brushed Nickel only. TOTO uses the suffix after the # to split finishes into separate part numbers, so a different finish is a different number, not a different option on the same one.
