Trimco 1082-8 Cylindrical Lock Guard, 8"

The 1082 Series lock guards are built for 2-3/4 inch backset cylindrical locks, and Trimco calls them universal to all bored commercial locksets at that backset. If your door is prepped with a 2-3/8 inch backset, this is the wrong part. The guard itself is non-handed for cylindrical locks, so it is the backset that decides fit, not the lock brand.

You pick a hand when ordering. The 1082-8 comes in Left Hand and Right Hand, both in 630 satin stainless. Hand the guard to the door it is going on, based on which side of the opening the lock sits and which way the door swings.

No extra drilling for through bolts. The 1082 Series mounts using the existing lockset through-bolts, which is why it goes on retrofit doors as easily as new construction. Trimco publishes a template for the 8 inch version if you need the hole layout before you start.

Longer guards cover more of the door face around the lock, which matters on doors that have taken repeated pry attempts or where you want coverage above and below the lever. Trimco offers the 1082-6 SP, which adds two 1/4-20 studs near the door edge on top of the standard through-bolt mounting. Guards with studs welded to the back are also offered. Those studs resist the plate being peeled away from the edge of the door, which is where a pry bar goes first.
