1) Will the Trimco 3913 flush bolt work on a wood door, or do I need a different model for hollow metal?
The 3913 is the wood door version of Trimco's 3910 Series manual flush bolt. For hollow metal doors, the family has separate models: the 3915 and the extruded 3917, with the 3917-12 as the UL metal door version. Ordering the 3913 for a metal leaf means the wrong body and the wrong prep, so match the model to the door material before you order.
2) Do I need to buy a strike separately with a Trimco 3913 flush bolt?
Yes, plan on a floor strike as a separate line. Trimco's 3910 Series includes the 3910 dust proof strike, the 3910N dust proof strike with no face plate, and the 3911 adjustable dust proof strike. A dust proof strike keeps grit out of the floor hole so the bottom bolt keeps dropping cleanly; the 3911 is the one to pick when the floor is uneven or the gap under the door varies and you need to adjust the strike after install.
3) My wood doors are taller than standard, is the 3913 flush bolt long enough?
The 3913 is the standard length wood door bolt. Trimco makes the 3916 specifically as the tall wood door manual flush bolt, and the series also offers custom rod lengths on special order. On an oversize pair, go to the 3916 or a custom rod rather than trying to make the standard bolt reach the head.
4) What is the difference between the Trimco 3913 and the W3913 flush bolt?
Both are UL manual flush bolts for wood doors and both are ordered in the same seven finishes. The difference is construction: the W3913 is the wrought version, while the standard 3913 uses the high density extruded body. Either way you get Trimco's stainless steel finger. If your spec or your existing openings call out wrought, order the W3913; otherwise the extruded 3913 is the standard pick.
5) Is a manual flush bolt like the Trimco 3913 allowed on an ADA opening?
