If your damage is scuffing right at the floor line, the mop plate is the part; if people are pushing the door open with their boots, order a kick plate instead, or both on the same leaf.
4) Can I get a Trimco mop plate UL labeled for a fire rated door?
UL labeling is one of the options Trimco offers on its protection plates, so it must be specified on the order rather than assumed on a stock plate. If the plate is going on a labeled fire door, call out UL labeling when you order.
5) Do Trimco mop plates come with screws, or do I order fasteners separately?
Fasteners ship with the plate. Trimco packs protection plates in damage resistant packaging that separates the fasteners from the plate so the face does not get scratched in transit. If you need tamper resistant heads for a school or transit application, security screws are an available option and have to be called out on the order.
6) Are the edges of the Trimco mop plate sharp?
No. Every Trimco protection plate gets a pencil bevel on all four edges as standard, which takes the sharpness off the perimeter, an important detail on a plate mounted at ankle height in a school or hospitality corridor. Heavy bevel and countersinking are available if you want a flatter profile or flush screw heads.
7) Can I get a mop plate cut around a door bottom sweep or an odd shaped door?
