Metallics TBH38 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What thread size is the Metallics TBH38 turnbuckle, and what rod will it take?
The TBH38 is a 3/8-16 turnbuckle, so it threads onto standard 3/8 inch coarse-thread hanger rod or eye bolts. If your rod is 1/4-20 or 1/2-13, this is the wrong size and you need the matching diameter instead.
2) Is the TBH38 a hook-end turnbuckle for tensioning cable or wire?
Yes, the TBH38 is a hook-style turnbuckle in 3/8-16 thread, used to draw up and tension a cable, guy wire, or brace run. The hook end lets you connect without disassembling the hardware at the attachment point, which is the practical difference from an eye or jaw end that has to be threaded through or pinned.
3) Can a 3/8-16 turnbuckle be used on electrical support and bracing work?
That is its usual home. The TBH38 is an electrical-trade turnbuckle, and the 3/8-16 thread matches the 3/8 inch rod commonly used for conduit and fixture support, so it drops into existing hanger rod runs for take-up and tensioning.
4) Does the Metallics TBH38 come as a single piece or in a box of multiples?
It ships as one piece. For a run of hanger or bracing points, order the quantity you need per location rather than expecting a multi-pack.
