The Sta-Kon F9043 is a bare, non-insulated wire ferrule. There is no plastic collar on it, so the crimped end goes into the terminal or lug uncovered and you provide any sleeving or boot separately if the application calls for covered strands. Bare ferrules are the usual pick where the terminal block throat is tight or where heat near the termination would deform an insulating collar.

A ferrule is a metal sleeve crimped over the stripped end of stranded wire so the strands act as one solid pin. It stops individual strands from splaying out or escaping the clamp when you tighten a screw terminal, and it keeps the conductor from being crushed and broken under the screw. On fine-stranded flexible cable landing in terminal blocks, breakers, drives or control panels, a crimped ferrule is what makes that connection repeatable.
