1) Can the WAC Hug 42 inch flush mount fan be installed on a covered porch or patio?
The Hug fan is Damp location rated and UL and cUL listed for damp locations, so a covered porch, a screened lanai, or a bathroom is fine. It is not wet rated, so keep it out of direct rain or spray.
2) Will the WAC Hug fan work on an 8 foot ceiling?
Yes. The Hug is a flush mount (hugger) fan built for ceilings 8 feet or lower, and it hangs about 10 inches from the ceiling, which keeps the blades clear of head height in a low room.
3) Can the Hug ceiling fan be mounted on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
No. The Hug is flush mount only and is not sloped ceiling compatible, and no downrod adapter is part of it. For an angled ceiling you need a fan with a downrod and a canopy that pivots.
4) Does the WAC Hug fan come with a remote, or how do you control it?
No remote is included. Fan speed (three speeds) and the LED light are run by pull chains. There is a memory feature that brings the fan and light back to their last setting when you cycle a plain on/off wall switch, and the AC motor accepts third-party ceiling fan controls if you want wall control.
