WAC Lighting WAC-PD-16063 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What dimmer works with the WAC Lune PD-16063 linear pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. The Lune runs on an integrated LED driver at 120V, so standard incandescent-only dimmers and most 0-10V controls are the wrong choice. Pair it with an ELV-rated wall control and you get smooth, continuous dimming.
2) How low can the Lune 63-inch linear pendant hang over an island or conference table?
Hanging height adjusts from 7 inches up to 120 inches from the ceiling, using push pin connectors at the canopy on the electrified cable suspension. The cable supplied is 120 inches, so the 10-foot maximum drop covers most open-ceiling and double-height installs without an extension.
3) Can the WAC Lune LED pendant be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The Lune is cable-hung from a ceiling canopy and is rated for sloped ceiling mounting. The driver sits on the backplate and installs inside a junction box, so plan the rough-in for a standard J-box at the mounting point.
4) Can I use this WAC pendant on a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It is damp location rated and IP44, so a covered exterior area, a porch ceiling, or a bath outside the shower zone is fine. Do not use it anywhere exposed to direct rain or standing water, that needs a wet location fixture.
5) Does the Lune LED pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant and Title 20 listed, and it carries ETL and cETL certification for US and Canadian installs. It is not Energy Star listed and it is not an ADA compliant fixture, which matters only if a spec calls for surface-mounted projection limits.
6) How much light does the 23W Lune linear pendant put out, and what color is it?
2300 lumens at 23 watts, in 3000K warm white with a flood distribution. That is a single continuous 63-inch bar of light rather than point sources, so it reads as even wash rather than hot spots. Both the aluminum and black finishes are 3000K only.
7) What are the mounting footprint and fixture dimensions for the PD-16063?
The fixture is 63 inches long, 1.65 inches wide and 3.54 inches high, mounted from a backplate 14.2 inches long. That slim 1.65 inch profile is what makes it work over a narrow island or a reception desk where a wider linear would look heavy.
8) Do I need to order lamps separately for the WAC Lune pendant?
No lamps to buy. The LEDs are integrated and rated for 50,000 hours, driven by an onboard driver rather than a socketed bulb, so there is nothing to relamp over the life of the fixture. For a property manager standardizing on fixtures, that removes the lamp SKU from the MRO list entirely.
9) Is the WAC Lune pendant hardwired or does it plug in?
Hardwired only at 120V. There is no cord and plug option, so the install needs a junction box at the ceiling with the driver mounting to the backplate inside it. Budget an electrician, not a swag hook.
10) What finishes does the Lune 63-inch pendant come in?
Two: brushed aluminum (PD-16063-AL) and black (PD-16063-BK). Both use the same aluminum hardware body with a silk screened opal glass diffuser, and both are 3000K.
