1) How long a run of WAC Gemini 24V tape light can I power from one supply?
Gemini runs up to 24 feet on a single power supply. The 100 ft reel is not one continuous run - you break it into runs of 24 feet or less and feed each one. Output is 3W per foot at 300 lumens per foot, 24V DC, so a 24 ft run draws about 72W and you size the driver accordingly.
2) Can Gemini LED tape light be cut to length on the job?
Yes, every 2 inches, and the cut ends reconnect with WAC's secure connectors. The 100 ft reel ships with 20 T24-BS-MM-CL I-connectors, which is what you use to join two cut segments end to end in a straight line.
3) Will this tape light show individual LED dots in a cove or under a cabinet?
No. Gemini is a dense COB-style tape with a single continuous phosphor coating over the diodes, so you get an unbroken line of light rather than visible diode imaging. That is why it works both where light bounces off a surface and where the tape sits in direct line of sight, such as low-clearance undercabinet or shallow cove work.
4) What dimmer works with WAC Gemini 24V tape light?
Electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V control. The 0-10V option only works with the PS-24DC-U power supply. Whichever you use, the dimmer goes on the primary (line) side of the transformer, not between the driver and the tape.
5) Can I use this tape light in a bathroom or a covered exterior soffit?
Gemini is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations and IP20 rated, so a bathroom cove or vanity is fine. IP20 means no protection against water spray or jets, so it is not for wet locations, direct rain exposure, or anywhere it could be hosed down. The catalog rates it as an indoor product.
6) Which color temperature should I order for a hotel or multi-family corridor standardization?
Four fixed color temperatures are built, each a separate part number on the 100 ft reel: 2700K (T24-GE3-100-27WT), 3000K (T24-GE3-100-30WT), 3500K (T24-GE3-100-35WT) and 4000K (T24-GE3-100-40WT). All are 90 CRI. 2700K and 3000K read warm for guest rooms and residential coves; 3500K is the common neutral for corridors and amenity spaces; 4000K reads cool for task and back-of-house.
