1) What power supply do I need for the WAC Gemini T24-GE3 24V LED tape light?
Gemini tape light runs on 24V DC, so it needs a driver. Two paths: the universal-input PS-24DC-U supply (120/220/277V), which also requires a T24-BS-EX2 lead wire ordered separately, or the 120VAC EN-BT60 supply, which comes with its lead wire included. Driver output is 24V DC and the driver is offered in a 288W max load version. The tape draws 3W per foot, so a 15 foot reel is about 45W of load.
2) Can the WAC Gemini LED tape be cut to length on site?
Yes, it can be cut in the field every 2 inches and re-connected with WAC's secure connectors. The 15 foot spool ships with 2 of the T24-BS-MM-CL I-connectors for rejoining cut sections; larger spools include more (8 on the 40 foot, 20 on the 100 foot). Plan cuts on 2 inch increments so you do not land mid-segment.
3) Will LED tape light show individual dots when installed under a cabinet in direct view?
Not with Gemini. It is a dense COB-style tape with a single continuous phosphor coating, which eliminates the diode imaging you get from spaced-diode tape. That is why it works both for light bounced off a surface and for runs sitting in direct line of sight, like an exposed cove edge or an open shelf.
4) Can WAC Gemini tape light be used in a bathroom or a covered exterior soffit?
It is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations and IP20 rated, and classified as an indoor product. Damp rating covers places like a bathroom cove or a covered, protected soffit that sees humidity. IP20 means no protection against water jets or direct wetting, so do not use it anywhere exposed to rain, spray, or washdown.
5) What dimmer works with WAC Gemini 24V tape light?
Gemini dims with an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer, a TRIAC dimmer, or 0-10V control. The 0-10V option only applies when you use the PS-24DC-U power supply. In every case the dimmer goes on the primary side of the transformer, not between the driver and the tape.
6) Which color temperature of Gemini tape should I order to match the rest of my fixtures?
The 15 foot Gemini reel comes in four color temperatures, all on a white tape: 2700K (T24-GE3-15-27WT), 3000K (T24-GE3-15-30WT), 3500K (T24-GE3-15-35WT), and 4000K (T24-GE3-15-40WT). 2700K and 3000K read warm for residential and hospitality millwork, 3500K is the common neutral for commercial and multi-family corridors, and 4000K is the cool end for task and back-of-house. All four are 90 CRI, so color rendering stays consistent whichever you pick.
7) How is WAC Gemini tape light fastened, and can it run vertically or upside down?
It mounts with a strong 3M adhesive bond on the back of the tape, no clips or screws needed, and it can be mounted on a ceiling or wall in any orientation.
