1) What power supply do I need for WAC Gemini T24-GE3 24V tape light?
Gemini runs on 24V DC, so it needs a driver. Two paths: the universal input 120/220/277V supply PS-24DC-U, which also requires the T24-BS-EX2 lead wire (sold separately), or the 120V AC supply EN-BT60, which comes with its lead wire included. The driver is available in a 288W max load. Order the supply and, on the PS-24DC-U path, the lead wire at the same time or the reel cannot be energized.
2) Can WAC Gemini LED tape be cut to length on site?
Yes, every 2 inches, and the cut ends reconnect with WAC's secure connectors. That 2 inch increment is the practical limit on how tight you can fit a run to a cabinet or cove, so measure to the nearest 2 inches rather than expecting an exact-to-the-inch cut.
3) Which color temperature of Gemini tape light should I order, and does it change the part number?
Four choices: 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, all in white finish. The color temperature is baked into the part number, so you pick it when you order: T24-GE3-24-27WT for 2700K, -30WT for 3000K, -35WT for 3500K, -40WT for 4000K. 2700K is the warm residential look, 4000K the cool neutral commercial one. All four are 90 CRI.
4) Can I dim WAC Gemini tape light, and what kind of dimmer?
It dims on ELV, TRIAC or 0-10V control. The 0-10V option only works when you are driving it with the PS-24DC-U power supply. Wire the dimmer on the primary side of the transformer, not between driver and tape.
5) Can Gemini tape light go in a bathroom or a covered exterior soffit?
It is UL and cUL Listed for damp locations, IP20 rated, and catalogued for indoor use. Damp covers a bathroom cove or a covered, protected soffit where it will not see direct water. It is not a wet location product, so no direct rain, spray, or washdown exposure.
6) Will Gemini tape light show individual dots if I aim it where people can see it?
No. Gemini is a dense COB-style tape with a single continuous phosphor coating over the diodes, which is what kills the dot imaging you get from spaced-diode tape. That makes it usable in direct line of sight, grazing a wall, or in a shallow cove where there is not enough clearance for the beams to blend.
7) Does WAC Gemini tape light meet California Title 24 for a job spec?
Yes, the Gemini T24-GE3 is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant, and it is ADA compliant. Combined with 90 CRI it clears the high color rendering language that shows up on a lot of California residential and commercial lighting specs.
8) How much light and how much load does Gemini tape light draw per foot?
3W and 300 lumens per foot at 24V. On a full 24 foot run that is 72W of connected load and 7200 lumens total, which is the number to use when you size the driver and the branch circuit. The 288W driver carries four such runs.
9) How does Gemini tape light mount, and does it need a channel or clips?
