1) Can the WAC Archetype WS-W15912 wall sconce be mounted on an existing pancake junction box?
Yes. The 12-inch Archetype uses 120V AC LED technology with no driver or transformer, so it mounts directly to a pancake junction box. It's hardwired, and the backplate measures 5.5 inches, so confirm your box sits behind that footprint.
2) Is the Archetype WS-W15912 rated for a fully exposed exterior wall, or only a covered soffit?
It carries a Wet location rating and an IP65 seal, so it can go on a fully exposed wall with direct rain. It's also ETL and cETL listed, and rated for indoor use, so the same fixture works on interior walls and in Canada.
3) Which dimmer works with the 12 inch WAC Archetype LED sconce?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The fixture is ELV dimmable and runs smooth and continuous on one; standard incandescent or TRIAC dimmers are the wrong control for driverless 120V AC LED and will give you flicker or no dimming.
4) Will this WAC Archetype sconce pass a Dark Sky or Title 24 inspection on a commercial exterior?
It's listed Dark Sky compliant and meets both California Title 24 and Title 20, and it's ADA compliant for protruding-object limits. Useful if you're specifying exterior wall lighting on a municipal, campus, or multi-family job with an outdoor lighting ordinance.
5) Can I get the Archetype WS-W15912 in 277V for a commercial panel, or in a different color temperature?
The stocked configuration is 120V at 3000K. WAC offers 277V, 240V, and custom CCT as special order on the WS-W159 Archetype, so a 277V building feed is possible but it isn't the standard catalog item.
6) Does the Archetype WS-W15912 throw light up and down, or down only?
Both. It's an up and down fixture, washing the wall in two directions through a white diffuser lens with a flood beam spread. If you only want grazing downlight on a facade, this will also put light on the wall above the fixture.

No lamps to buy. It's a single integrated LED, included, rated for 54,000 average hours. Integrated means the LED is not a replaceable lamp, so plan on fixture replacement at end of life rather than a relamp, which is the trade-off against a lamped sconce for a maintenance fleet.
