WAC Lighting WAC-PD-52313 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Niveous PD-52313 pendant mount on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The canopy has an integral swivel for sloped ceilings, so the rod stays plumb while the backplate follows the slope. The backplate is 6.75 by 6.75 inches, which covers a standard round ceiling box, and the fixture is a hardwired ceiling mount.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC PD-52313 LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer or a 0-10V dimmer. Those are the two controls the integrated LED driver is built for. A standard incandescent/TRIAC leading edge dimmer is not what this driver calls for, so if you're replacing an old fixture on an existing dimmer, plan on swapping the control as part of the job.
3) Can the PD-52313 run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V through 277V (120-240-277V), so the same part number works on residential 120V circuits and on 277V commercial lighting branch circuits. That's useful if you're standardizing one fixture across a hotel or multi-family project with mixed voltages.
4) Can I hang the Niveous glass globe pendant on a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It is damp location rated and IP44, so a covered exterior porch, a soffit, or a bathroom outside the shower zone is within its rating. It is not wet rated, so it should not go where it takes direct rain or hose spray.
5) Which color temperature of the WAC Niveous 13.75 inch pendant should I order, and can I change it later?
Three CCTs are offered and they are fixed at the factory, not field selectable: 2700K (warm, suffix -27), 3000K (the base part number with no CCT suffix), and 3500K (suffix -35). Order all fixtures in a space with the same suffix so the globes match. Custom CCTs are available by special order.
6) What finishes does the WAC Niveous PD-52313 come in, and do all finishes offer every color temperature?
Three finishes: Aged Brass (AB), Brushed Nickel (BN) and White (WT). Aged Brass and Brushed Nickel are built in 2700K, 3000K and 3500K. White is built in 3000K only, so if the job is specified at 2700K or 3500K you will be selecting brass or nickel.
7) How much light does the 14W Niveous LED pendant actually put out, and how many do I need over a counter?
906 lumens at 14 watts from a single integrated LED array, with a flood distribution through the etched glass globe. That's an ambient, evenly lit globe rather than a task downlight, so over a run of counter or an island most layouts use two or three spaced along the length rather than one doing all the work.
8) Can the bulb in the WAC PD-52313 be replaced when it burns out?
No. The light source is an integrated LED with no socket or lamp base, rated 70,000 hours average. There's nothing to relamp, which is the point for MRO crews who don't want to pull a ladder every year, but it also means the fixture itself is the replacement unit at end of life.
9) Does the Niveous pendant meet California Title 24 for a residential job?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which matters on California work where the fixture has to be on the appliance registry and meet the energy code. It is not Energy Star listed, and it is not ADA compliant, so it is not a candidate where an ADA projection limit applies.
10) I need the Niveous pendant lower than 54 inches on a two story foyer. What do I order?
Additional down rods are sold separately and are the way to go past the 54 inch maximum built from the included rods. The supplied wire runs 120 inches, which sets the ceiling on total extension at 120 inches, so plan the rod stack to land within that.
11) How big is the Niveous PD-52313 globe and what is it made of?
The globe measures 13.75 inches across and 13.75 inches tall, in mouth blown etched triplex glass. Because it's hand blown, slight variation between globes is normal. The body and canopy hardware are aluminum, with a 6.75 inch backplate.
