Designed to disappear, the low profile Vibe picture light features a canopy that both hides behind the artwork and serves as the mount. At less than an inch in diameter, the Vibe picture light shrouds the smallest light source available to provide substantial, full spectrum, and high quality lighting. 1) What size artwork does the WAC Vibe PL-LED25 picture light suit?
The PL-LED25 is the 15 inch wide Vibe, with a 14 inch overall height dimension and a 4 inch backplate. The head swivels 35 degrees up or down and throws a 110 degree beam, so it covers mid-size canvases and framed pieces. The Vibe family runs in three lengths, so step up or down if your piece is much wider or narrower than 15 inches.
2) Is the WAC PL-LED25 Vibe picture light hardwired or does it plug in?
This one is the hardwired version, 120V. The Vibe is offered as either hardwired or portable, and the portable model is what ships with the 8 foot cord and plug plus an 18 inch wire cover in a matching finish. If there is no J-box behind the art, you want the portable, not this.
3) Will the WAC Vibe picture light dim on my existing dimmer?
It needs an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth, continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/leading-edge wall dimmer is not the right control here and will likely flicker or drop out at the low end. Spec an ELV control on the circuit.
4) Can a picture light like the WAC Vibe go in a bathroom or a covered porch?
The Vibe PL-LED25 carries a damp location rating with IP44, and is listed for interior or exterior covered use. That covers a bath, a covered entry, or a porch ceiling overhang. It is not for direct rain or open exterior exposure.
5) Does the WAC PL-LED25 meet California Title 24 for a residential job?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listings for US and Canadian installs. It is not Energy Star rated.
