WAC Lighting WAC-PD-70945 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How high a ceiling can the Flare pendant hang from, and how short can it be cut down?
Adjustable from 14 inches minimum to 159 inches maximum overall hanging height, with 120 inches of supply wire. Height is set on site through push pin connectors in the canopy, so no cutting or rewiring is needed to shorten it. That 159 inch range covers stairwell and double height spaces without an extension kit.
2) Will the WAC Flare pendant work on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The Flare pendant ships with a universal input driver rated 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same part number works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits. It is a hardwired fixture, not plug-in.
3) What dimmer works with the Flare LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/magnetic low voltage dimmer is not a listed control here, so swap it if that is what is on the wall.
4) Can this pendant go over a covered porch or in a bathroom?
The Flare pendant carries a Damp location rating and an IP44 rating, so it is suitable indoors and in covered outdoor areas such as a porch or soffit, and in a bath outside the shower. It is not a wet location fixture, so keep it out of direct rain or spray.
5) How much light does the WAC Flare pendant put out, and what color is it?
4254 lumens at 42W in 3000K warm white, with a flood beam spread through a co-extruded acrylic diffuser. That output is high enough to serve as the primary light over an island or a conference table rather than accent only. Custom CCT is available by special order.
6) Can the LED be replaced in the Flare pendant when it fails?
No. The light source is an integrated LED, single source, supplied with the fixture, so there is no lamp to change. Rated average life is 50,000 hours. For MRO planning, treat the fixture as the replaceable unit.
7) Does the WAC Flare pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it is ETL and cETL certified for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not ADA compliant, which matters only if the fixture were wall mounted in a circulation path.
8) How slim is the Flare pendant body, and how long is the cylinder?
The cylinder is 2.44 inches in diameter and 45 inches of fixture height, a narrow vertical tube rather than a broad shade. Hung in pairs it reads as a matched vertical accent over an island or a reception desk without blocking sight lines.
9) What finishes does the Flare pendant come in?
Two finishes, Black and Brushed Nickel, both in 3000K. Body is aluminum with an acrylic diffuser, so the finish is on extruded metal rather than plated plastic.
