1) Can the WAC Parallax WS-73124 sconce mount on a standard pancake junction box?
Yes. The Parallax WS-73124 runs on 120V AC LED technology with no separate driver or transformer, so it fits on a pancake junction box. The backplate is 6.75 inches long and the fixture projects 2.75 inches off the wall, so it covers a typical pancake box footprint. It is hardwired, not plug-in.
2) Can the 24 inch Parallax sconce be installed vertically beside a mirror instead of above it?
Both orientations work. The Parallax 24 inch sconce can be mounted vertically or horizontally, so you can run it across the top of a mirror or flank the mirror in pairs. Mounting is wall-only, with up/down light distribution and a flood beam spread through the white etched acrylic diffuser.
3) How do I set the color temperature on the WAC Parallax 3-CCT sconce, and what is it set to out of the box?
There is a switch inside the canopy, reachable during installation, that toggles between 2700K warm, 3000K warm white, and 3500K white. It ships factory pre-set at 3000K, so if that is what the job calls for you can install it without touching the switch. The selection is made in the field, not at order time, which is why there is a single 2700-3000-3500 option rather than three separate part numbers.
4) Is the WS-73124 approved for a shower area or a covered porch?
The Parallax WS-73124 carries a Damp location rating with IP44 ingress protection and is listed for indoor or covered outdoor use. That covers a bathroom including the general shower surround area and a roofed porch or breezeway. It is not a wet-location fixture, so avoid any spot with direct rain or spray exposure.
5) What kind of dimmer do I need for the WAC Parallax LED sconce?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent-only rotary or a 0-10V control is the wrong choice here. Since the LED is integrated and runs off 120V line voltage with no remote driver, the dimmer at the wall is the only control device in the circuit.
6) Will the Parallax sconce meet ADA and California Title 24 requirements for a multi-family bath?
