1) Will the WAC Bliss WS-79636 vanity light mount over my existing bathroom junction box?
The Bliss WS-79636 is hardwired and ships with a 4 inch conversion plate so it can be installed over a standard 4 inch junction box. The fixture is 36 inches wide with a 36 inch backplate and stands 3.5 inches off the wall, so the backplate hides the box entirely. It runs on 120V line voltage.
2) Can the 36 inch Bliss light be installed vertically beside a mirror instead of above it?
Yes. The Bliss WS-79636 mounts either vertically or horizontally, so the same fixture works as a 36 inch bar over the mirror or as a tall sconce on either side of it. Mounting is wall mount, up or down orientation.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Bliss WS-79636 LED vanity light?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer. The integrated LED driver in the Bliss WS-79636 dims smoothly and continuously on ELV control; a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer is not the right control for it. Load is 38.5W at 120V.
4) Which color temperature of the Bliss WS-79636 should I order, and does the finish change?
Three color temperatures are offered, all in Polished Nickel: 2700K (WS-79636-27-PN), 3000K (WS-79636-PN) and 3500K (WS-79636-35-PN). 2700K reads warm and close to incandescent, 3000K is a warm white commonly specified in hospitality baths, 3500K is neutral and cooler. Color temperature is fixed at the factory, so pick it to match the other fixtures in the room.
5) Can the Bliss WS-79636 go in a shower or over a tub?
It is rated for damp locations and IP44, which covers a covered exterior spot or a steamy bathroom, but damp rated is not wet rated. Keep it out of direct spray inside a shower enclosure or directly above a tub where it would get hit with water.
6) Does the WAC Bliss WS-79636 meet ADA and California Title 24?
Yes on all three counts: the WS-79636 is listed ADA compliant, Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California spec job needs for a residential bath fixture. It is ETL and cETL certified for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated.
7) Do I ever have to relamp the Bliss WS-79636, and what happens when the LED fails?
There is nothing to relamp. The Bliss uses a single integrated LED module with no socket or replaceable bulb, rated at 50,000 average hours. For a property manager that means no lamp stocking across a building, but it also means the whole fixture gets swapped at end of life rather than a bulb.
8) What is the Bliss vanity light actually made of?
The body is aluminum finished in Polished Nickel, and the diffuser is tempered mitered glass with a silk-screened ceramic interior, held at the edges by two polished nickel clips. Aluminum rather than steel keeps the 36 inch bar light enough for a single 4 inch box mount.
