WAC Lighting WAC-WS-79622 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Bliss WS-79622 vanity light be mounted vertically beside a mirror, or only horizontally above it?
Either way. The 22 inch Bliss WS-79622 mounts horizontally above a mirror or vertically alongside it, and the fixture is listed for wall mounting with up/down orientation. A conversion plate is included so it lands on a standard 4 inch junction box.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC Bliss WS-79622 LED vanity light?
It needs an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth, continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer is the wrong control here and is the usual cause of flicker or a limited dim range on AC LED fixtures like this one.
3) Does the WS-79622 need an LED driver or transformer installed in the wall?
No. The Bliss WS-79622 is an AC LED fixture, so there is no remote transformer or driver to find room for. It wires straight to 120V line voltage over any junction box. 277V is available by special order.
4) Is the Bliss WS-79622 safe to use in a shower area or over a bathroom sink?
It carries a Damp location rating with IP44 protection, which covers it over a vanity or in a covered damp spot, including outdoors under cover. It is not rated for wet locations, so do not put it inside a shower enclosure or anywhere taking direct spray.
5) What color temperatures does the Bliss WS-79622 come in, and can I match the rest of my bathrooms?
Three fixed color temperatures, all in Polished Nickel: 2700K as WS-79622-27-PN, 3000K as WS-79622-PN, and 3500K as WS-79622-35-PN. The LED is integrated, so the color is set at the factory and cannot be changed later. Order the same suffix across a building to keep the openings consistent.
6) Does the WS-79622 meet ADA and California Title 24 requirements?
Yes on both. The Bliss WS-79622 is ADA compliant and listed as Title 24 and Title 20 compliant, which is what matters for California multi-family and commercial bath work. It is ETL and cETL listed. It is not Energy Star rated.
7) How far does the Bliss vanity light project off the wall, and how much mirror clearance do I need?
The fixture measures 22 inches wide with a 22 inch backplate and stands 3.5 inches. The backplate runs the full length of the fixture, so plan your junction box at the center of that 22 inch run and leave 22 inches of clear wall or mirror edge for the mount.
8) What happens when the LEDs in this vanity light burn out, is there a bulb to replace?
There is no lamp to replace. The LED modules are integrated and rated for 50,000 average hours, which is why this style is specified for rentals and hotels where nobody wants a maintenance call for a bulb. When the module eventually fails the fixture is replaced, not relamped.
9) What is the Bliss WS-79622 actually made of, and will the polished nickel hold up in a bath?
Aluminum body in Polished Nickel, with tempered mitered glass held at the edges by two polished nickel clips. The glass has a silk-screened ceramic interior rather than a painted film, and the whole assembly is IP44 rated for damp bath air.
