WAC Lighting WAC-PD-55904 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What dimmer works with the WAC Houdini PD-55904, and will a standard incandescent dimmer run it?
Use an ELV (electronic low voltage) or 0-10V dimmer. The integrated LED driver dims smoothly on those two control types only, so a standard incandescent/TRIAC wall dimmer is not the right control for this fixture. Spec the dimmer alongside the pendant.
2) Will the Houdini PD-55904 pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. It uses a universal input voltage driver rated 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits. It is a hardwired fixture, not a plug-in, drawing 20.35W total.
3) Can the WAC Houdini PD-55904 go in a bathroom or a covered porch?
It carries a damp location rating and an IP44 rating, so it is suitable for indoor or covered outdoor use, such as a bathroom away from direct spray or a roofed porch. It is not rated for wet, fully exposed locations.
4) Can the Houdini PD-55904 LED pendant be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The Houdini pendant is a rod-hung, ceiling-mounted fixture and can be mounted on a slope ceiling. It also offers multiple orientation options for the wand arrangement, so you can set the look once it is up.
5) Does the Houdini PD-55904 pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, the Houdini PD-55904 is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what California projects need on the lighting schedule. It is ETL and cETL listed for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not an ADA compliant fixture.
6) Do I need to buy bulbs for the WAC Houdini PD-55904, and can the LEDs be replaced later?
No bulbs to buy. The Houdini uses integrated LEDs across its four light sources, rated at 40,000 average hours, so there is no lamp to relamp. Output is 359 lumens at 3000K with a flood distribution through a white sanded acrylic diffuser.
7) Is the 359 lumen output of the Houdini pendant enough to light a room on its own?
Treat it as a decorative and accent layer, not a primary room light. At 359 lumens from 20.35W with a flood spread through a sanded acrylic diffuser, the Houdini gives even ambient glow rather than task-level brightness. For a dining table, island, or entry it works paired with recessed or other general lighting.
8) What finish and color temperature does the Houdini PD-55904 come in?
It is offered in Brushed Nickel at 3000K, ordered as PD-55904-BN. The body is aluminum with a white sanded acrylic shade. Custom CCT is available by special order if a project spec calls for something other than 3000K.
