WAC Lighting WAC-PD-83148 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening does the 49 inch Marques pendant actually need above a dining table?
The fixture spans 49 inches wide by 17 inches in the other horizontal dimension, with a 6 inch fixture height. The ceiling canopy is much smaller, with a 14 inch backplate length. Plan clearance for the full 49 inch sweep, not the canopy.
2) Will the Marques PD-83148 LED pendant run on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The integrated driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same part number works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting branch circuits. It is a hardwired fixture, not a plug-in, so it needs a ceiling outlet box and a J-box connection.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Marques LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV), TRIAC, or 0-10V dimmer. Those three control types give smooth continuous dimming on this driver. A standard incandescent/MLV rotary dimmer is not one of the listed types, so swap the control if that is what is in the box.
4) Can the Marques pendant go in a covered porch or a bathroom over a tub?
It is damp location rated and IP44, suitable for indoor or covered outdoor use such as a soffit, covered patio or porch. Damp rating also covers a bathroom. It is not wet location rated, so keep it out of direct rain or spray.
5) Does the Marques PD-83148 meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant and Title 20 listed, and it carries ETL and cETL certification for the US and Canada. It is not Energy Star rated. If your drawing calls for a JA8 style compliant luminaire, the Title 24 line is the one to reference on submittal.
6) Do I need to order bulbs for the PD-83148, and what happens when the LEDs fail?
No bulbs to buy. The LED array is integrated and supplied in the fixture, concealed behind a white silicone diffuser, rated for 50,000 average hours. Because the source is integrated, there is no lamp to replace at end of life, the fixture is replaced. For MRO buyers that is the trade-off versus a lamped pendant.
7) How much light does the 49 inch Marques put out, and what wattage is it drawing?
3375 lumens at 44W, at 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution that throws evenly in all directions off the inside-edge diffuser. For a 44W load you can gang several on one 120V circuit, which matters when a spec calls for a row over a long island or a hospitality corridor.
8) Can I get the Marques in a color temperature other than 3000K?
Stock configuration is 3000K on both finishes. Custom CCT is available by special order from WAC, so if a spec calls for 2700K or 3500K to match an existing building standard, it has to be handled as a special-order run rather than picked off the standard options.
