1) Will the WAC Lighting WL-LED103 step light fit a standard 2x4 electrical box?
Yes. The WL-LED103 mounts to a standard 2 in x 4 in junction box, and the box needs minimum inside dimensions of 3 in L x 2 in W x 2 in D for the driver and wiring to sit properly. A junction box mounting bracket and hardware come with the fixture. Faceplate is 5 inches wide with a 3.13 inch backplate height, so it covers a standard box opening.
2) Can the WL-LED103 LED step light be used outdoors in a wet location?
Yes. It is wet location rated, UL and cUL listed, and IP66, which covers direct rain and high pressure water jets. The housing is cast K-alloy aluminum and the unit is factory sealed. It works indoors or out, so the same fixture can be used on interior stairwells and exterior walkways.
3) Does the WAC WL-LED103 step light need a low voltage transformer?
No transformer needed. This is the 120V line voltage version, hardwired directly to a 120V branch circuit at the junction box. It draws 3.8W. If you are running a 12V landscape system off a transformer, this is the wrong fixture for that circuit.
4) Does the WAC WL-LED103 step light turn on automatically at dusk?
Yes. This version carries the built in daylight photocell sensor, so it switches on at dusk and off at dawn with no timer or contactor in the circuit. For a property manager running a stair run or walkway, that means no seasonal reprogramming across the fixtures.
5) What is the difference between the 3000K and Amber versions of the WL-LED103?
