1) Which WAC Scoop bollards does the M6610-CON-KIT concrete pour kit fit?
The M6610-CON-KIT is the concrete pour kit for the WAC Landscape Scoop bollards 6611, 6612 and 6613. The bollard itself is sold separately, so order the kit alongside whichever of those three heights you are specifying.
2) Do I need this pour kit, or can I just stake the Scoop bollard into the ground?
Two different mounting methods. The Scoop bollard ships with the M6000-Stake mounting accessory for soft ground. Use the M6610-CON-KIT instead when the bollard is landing on a concrete surface or a poured footing, which is what you want for a hardscape walkway, plaza, or parking island where a stake has nothing to bite into.
3) What comes in the box with the M6610-CON-KIT, and what do I still have to buy?
The kit contains the installation hardware and instructions. The Scoop bollard, its driver voltage selection, and any dimmer are separate purchases. The bollard runs 12V, 120V or 277V, and dimming needs a magnetic low voltage dimmer on 12V, a triac or ELV dimmer on 120V, or an ELV dimmer on 277V, none of which are part of this kit.
4) How big is the concrete pour kit for the WAC Scoop bollard, and how much wire comes with it?
The kit measures 6 inches by 5 inches by 5 inches, and it comes with a 36 inch wire lead. Plan your conduit stub-up and junction point so the bollard can be landed within that 36 inch run.
5) Is the WAC Scoop bollard pour kit rated for wet outdoor locations?
Yes. It is an outdoor, wet location rated part, UL and cUL listed with an IP65 rating on the spec record. The Scoop bollard system itself is factory sealed water tight.
6) Does the Scoop bollard with this pour kit meet ADA and Title 24 for a campus walkway?
Both are marked yes on the spec record: ADA compliant and Title 24 compliant. It is a hardwired assembly, not a plug-in fixture, so it goes in as part of the branch circuit design.
7) Can I flip or reorient the WAC Scoop concrete pour kit after the concrete sets?
No. The pour kit is not reversible mounting, so its orientation is fixed once it is set. Confirm the bollard's aiming direction before the pour, because the Scoop throws light out of one side.
8) Will the pour kit corrode in a coastal or de-icing salt environment?
The kit is aluminum, and the Scoop bollard uses K-Alloy aluminum construction for added protection against outdoor elements. Aluminum avoids the rust problems of a steel base plate set in concrete, which is why it holds up on exposed pathway and perimeter runs.
9) I am ordering pour kits for a whole property in bronze bollards. Does the kit finish need to match?
The M6610-CON-KIT is supplied in black, and it sets in or on the concrete beneath the bollard, so it is largely out of sight once installed. The Scoop bollard above it is the piece you spec in bronze or black.
