WAC Lighting WAC-PD-87208 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the Chandra PD-87208 mini pendant be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The Chandra LED mini pendant uses a spin-on round canopy with minimal hardware that mounts on a sloped ceiling, and it will sit on a standard pancake junction box. The canopy backplate measures 5.88 inches in diameter, so confirm your box and ceiling area can accept that footprint.
2) Will the Chandra LED pendant work on a dimmer, and which type?
It dims smoothly on ELV (electronic low voltage) or TRIAC dimmers on a 120V circuit. Because it is AC LED, there is no separate driver or transformer in the run, so the dimmer wires to the fixture directly. Don't pair it with a 0-10V or DALI control.
3) Can I hang this pendant on a covered porch or over a bathtub area?
The Chandra pendant is damp location listed with an IP44 rating, so covered exterior spots like porches, soffits and breezeways are fine, as are bathrooms. It is not rated for wet locations with direct rain or spray exposure.
4) Does the Chandra pendant meet California Title 24 energy requirements?
Yes, it is Title 24 and Title 20 compliant, and ETL and cETL listed for the US and Canada. It draws 14.8W at 120V and delivers 958 lumens, which is what gets it over the efficacy bar for California jobs.
5) Do I need to buy bulbs for the PD-87208, and can the LED be replaced later?
No bulbs to buy. It is a single integrated LED light source, included, rated 50,000 hours at 3000K warm white with a high 90 CRI. Being integrated, there is no socket and no lamp to swap, so plan on fixture replacement at end of life.
6) What finishes does the Chandra 7.5 inch mini pendant come in?
Two: black (PD-87208-BK) and brushed nickel (PD-87208-BN). Both are the 3000K version with the clear tapered glass cone, so a row over an island will read consistently whichever metal you match to the rest of the kitchen.
7) Is the light output from the Chandra pendant a tight spot or a wider wash?
It is a flood distribution downlight through a clear tapered glass diffuser, so you get general task light on the counter rather than a narrow accent beam. At 958 lumens per fixture, spacing several in a row is the usual approach over an island or bar.
8) Is the Chandra pendant body metal or plastic?
Aluminum body with a cone-shaped glass shade. It is a hardwired ceiling fixture, not a plug-in, so it needs a junction box and a switched 120V feed at the location.
9) Is there a larger version of the Chandra pendant to mix sizes over a long island?
The Chandra collection is also offered in a matching 8 inch size alongside this 7.5 inch wide version, so you can keep the same cone profile and finish while varying scale across a run.
