WAC Lighting WAC-PD-51315 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Jedi PD-51315 mini-pendant be hung over a covered porch or in a bathroom?
The Jedi LED mini-pendant is damp location rated, ETL and cETL listed, with an IP44 rating. That covers a covered exterior area like a porch soffit or a bathroom away from direct spray. It is not rated for wet locations, so skip any spot exposed to direct rain or a shower head.
2) What dimmer works with the WAC Jedi PD-51315 LED pendant?
It needs an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth, continuous dimming. A standard incandescent/forward-phase wall dimmer is the wrong control here and is the usual cause of flicker or drop-out on these LED filament pendants.
3) Does the Jedi PD-51315 need a separate transformer or a specific supply voltage?
No external transformer. The driver is a universal input unit concealed inside the canopy and accepts 120V, 240V or 277V, so the same pendant works on residential 120V circuits and on 277V commercial lighting branch circuits. It is hardwired to a ceiling outlet box.
4) How low can I hang this pendant over a counter, and how short can it go?
Adjustable from 20 inches minimum to 120 inches maximum overall, using the 120 inches of suspension cable and push-pin connectors at the canopy. The fixture body itself is 15 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter, so over an island you set the drop within that range at the canopy rather than cutting anything. Longer cable lengths can be special ordered.
5) If an LED filament burns out, does the whole Jedi pendant get replaced?
No. The tube carries 15 LED filament lamps and each one is replaceable via a quick connector, so a failure is a lamp swap rather than a fixture swap. Rated life is 50,000 hours. That serviceability is the reason this one gets specified in hospitality and multi-family where ladder trips cost more than parts.
6) Does the WAC Jedi PD-51315 meet California Title 24 or Energy Star for my project?
It is Title 20 compliant, but not Title 24 compliant and not Energy Star. If your California project requires a Title 24 JA8 listed luminaire in that room, this pendant will not satisfy it. It is also not ADA compliant, which matters only for wall-projection rules and not for a ceiling-hung pendant.
7) How much light does a single 1.5 inch Jedi pendant actually put out?
500 lumens at 7W, 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution through a glass diffuser. That is accent-level output, not task lighting. Over a long island or bar most installers run a row of three or more on even centers rather than relying on one.
8) What finishes and color temperature does the PD-51315 Jedi pendant come in?
Two finishes, Aged Brass (PD-51315-AB) and Black (PD-51315-BK), both in 3000K. The body is aluminum with a glass diffuser. Custom CCT is available by special order if a project spec calls for something other than 3000K.
9) What size canopy does the Jedi mini-pendant have, and will it cover my existing ceiling box?
The backplate is 6.13 inches in diameter and mounts to a ceiling outlet box, so it covers a standard 4 inch round or octagon box opening. Mounting is ceiling only, cable suspended, so it will not work as a wall or sloped-ceiling-free application without confirming the canopy can sit flat.
10) Do I need to order lamps separately for this pendant?
No separate lamp order. The 15 integrated LED filaments ship with the fixture, so there is no socket base to spec and nothing extra to buy to make it light. You only supply the ELV dimmer and the ceiling box.
