WAC Lighting WAC-PD-22775 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What hanging height range can I get out of the Volo PD-22775, and can it work on a high ceiling?
Suspension adjusts from 7 inches up to 85 inches overall. It ships with 120 inches (10 ft) of cable, and length is set with a push-pin locking mechanism at the canopy, so you shorten it on site rather than cutting rod. For a two-story or sloped-ceiling drop beyond 85 inches, this pendant will not reach.
2) Will the Volo LED pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, and it is concealed inside the canopy, so the same part number works on residential 120V and commercial 277V circuits with no separate remote driver to find a home for. It is a hardwired fixture, not plug-in.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Volo PD-22775?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth continuous dimming; TRIAC control is also supported. Standard incandescent/magnetic-only dimmers are not the right pairing. The LED is integrated and included, so there is no lamp to spec.
4) Can this Volo pendant go in a covered porch or a bathroom?
It is damp location rated and IP44, so a covered exterior area, a porch ceiling, or a bath outside the shower zone is within rating. It is not rated for wet locations with direct rain exposure.
5) Does the Volo PD-22775 meet California Title 24 for a lighting spec?
Yes, it is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it carries ETL and cETL listing for US and Canadian installs. It is not an Energy Star fixture and it is not ADA compliant, which matters only for wall-mounted applications, not a ceiling pendant.
6) How much light does the 1.5 inch Volo pendant actually put out, and is it enough over a kitchen island?
It delivers 2,671 lumens at 75W in a flood distribution at 3000K warm white, through a frosted acrylic diffuser that evens out the output along the 74.5 inch bar. That is a usable primary light level over an island or a conference table rather than accent-only. Rated life is 54,000 hours.
7) What finishes does the Volo PD-22775 come in, and will they match across multiple units?
Two finishes: brushed aluminum (PD-22775-AL) and black (PD-22775-BK), both at 3000K. The body is brushed and anodized solid aluminum, so repeat orders of the same suffix will match for a run of several fixtures down a corridor or lobby.
8) Does the Volo pendant need a separate power cord running down to it?
No. The fixture is fed through the two thin low profile suspension cables, so there is no extra power cord hanging alongside. Mounting is ceiling only, cable suspended, which is why the look stays clean on an open-plan install.
9) Can I get the Volo PD-22775 in 2700K or 3500K instead of 3000K?
Both stocked configurations are 3000K. WAC does offer custom CCT on the Volo as a special order, so a different color temperature is possible but is not one of the standard finish/temperature combinations.
