WAC Lighting WAC-PD-22744 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What dimmer works with the WAC Volo PD-22744 LED pendant?
It runs on ELV, TRIAC, or 0-10V dimming. WAC calls out an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for the smoothest, continuous fade. If you are standardizing a unit or a restaurant on 0-10V controls, this fixture drops into that scheme without a separate driver change.
2) Will this pendant run on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The Volo uses a universal input driver rated 120V, 240V, and 277V, concealed inside the canopy. That means the same part number works on a 120V residential circuit and a 277V commercial lighting branch, which is useful when you are buying one fixture for a mixed-use building. It is hardwired to a ceiling box, not plug-in.
3) Can I hang the Volo pendant over a bathtub or on a covered porch?
It carries a damp location rating with IP44 protection, so a covered porch, a breezeway, or a bathroom outside the shower/tub zone is fine. What it is not is a wet-location fixture: no direct rain, no open patio, no spot inside a shower enclosure. It is ETL and cETL listed for US and Canadian work.
4) Do I need to buy bulbs, and what happens when the LED dies?
No bulbs to buy. The Volo uses an integrated LED array, included, rated at 54,000 average hours. There is no socket and no lamp to replace, so plan on it as a sealed fixture. At 54,000 hours it is a long service interval for a lobby or corridor that runs 12 hours a day.
5) How much light does the 24W Volo pendant put out, and what color is it?
1299 lumens at 24 watts, in a 3000K warm white with a flood distribution. The frosted acrylic diffuser spreads it evenly down the length of the bar instead of throwing hot spots, which is what you want over a counter or a conference table. 3000K is the warm-neutral point most hospitality and residential specs land on.
6) Does the WAC Volo pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is listed as Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which matters if you are pulling permits in California. Note it is not Energy Star rated and it is not ADA compliant, though ADA is a wall-fixture concern and this is a ceiling-hung pendant.
7) What finishes does the Volo PD-22744 come in?
Two: Brushed Aluminum (PD-22744-AL) and Black (PD-22744-BK), both in 3000K. The body is brushed and anodized solid aluminum, so the finish is in the metal rather than a coating sitting on top of it.
8) Does the Volo pendant need a separate power cord running down beside the cables?
No. Power runs through the two thin suspension cables themselves, so there is no third cord hanging in the sightline. That is the point of the design, and it is why it works over a glass-front island or in a stairwell where anything extra shows. Mounting is ceiling only, via the canopy.
