WAC Lighting WAC-PD-22754 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Volo PD-22754 LED pendant?
The Volo PD-22754 dims on an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer only, and the driver is built into the canopy so there is no remote driver to locate. Put an ELV-rated dimmer on the 120V circuit; a standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer will not give you smooth dimming on this fixture.
2) Can the WAC Volo pendant be installed in a covered porch or a bathroom?
Yes, within limits. The Volo PD-22754 is damp location rated and carries an IP44 rating, so a covered exterior ceiling or a bathroom outside the shower spray zone is fine. It is not rated for wet locations, so skip open, unprotected exterior ceilings.
3) Does the Volo pendant need a separate power cord or a junction box in the ceiling?
It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, no visible power cord. The fixture hangs on two thin low profile cables that also carry the power, and the canopy backplate is 13.75 inches long, so make sure your box location sits within that cover plate.
4) How much light does the 56W Volo LED pendant actually put out?
3095 lumens from a 56W integrated LED at 3000K, with a flood distribution through a frosted acrylic diffuser for even wash rather than spotting. Rated life is 54,000 hours, and the LED is not replaceable as a lamp.
5) What finishes does the Volo PD-22754 pendant come in?
Two: brushed aluminum (PD-22754-AL) and black (PD-22754-BK), both at 3000K. Body is brushed and anodized solid aluminum, so the finish is on metal rather than paint over plastic. For matching several openings in a building, order the same suffix across all of them.
6) Will the WAC Volo pendant meet California Title 24 on a commercial job?
Yes. The Volo PD-22754 is listed as both Title 20 and Title 24 compliant, and it dims on ELV controls, which covers the common dimming-control requirement. It is not Energy Star qualified and it is not ADA compliant, so do not use it where a protruding-object ADA clearance is in play.
7) Can I get the Volo linear pendant in 2700K or 4000K instead of 3000K?
Stocked configurations are 3000K. WAC offers custom CCT on the Volo by special order, so a different color temperature is a made-to-order request rather than a shelf item.
