WAC Lighting PD-49512-27-WT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Aragon PD-495 mini-pendant be installed on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. The Aragon PD-495 is a ceiling-mounted pendant and is sloped ceiling compatible. It hangs on an electrified cable with push-pin connectors at the canopy, so you set the drop height at install without cutting stem lengths.
2) Will the Aragon LED pendant work on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, and it sits concealed inside the canopy. That means the same part number works on residential 120V circuits and on 277V lighting branch circuits in hospitality or commercial work, with no separate transformer. It is a hardwired fixture, not a plug-in.
3) Can I use the Aragon pendant over a covered patio or in a bathroom?
The Aragon mini-pendant is ETL and cETL listed for damp locations, so a covered porch, a shower-adjacent bath area or a similar protected spot is within its rating. It is not rated for wet locations, meaning anywhere exposed to direct rain or hose spray needs a wet-listed fixture instead.
4) Do I have to pick a color temperature when I order the WAC PD-495, or can it be changed later?
Both. The PD-495 Aragon is ordered by color temperature, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K or 4000K, and it is a 4-CCT selectable fixture, so the setting can be pre-selected or adjusted in the field. For a property standardizing across a building, order everything at one temperature and you still keep the ability to change a room later without swapping fixtures.
5) What dimmer works with the WAC Aragon LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Standard incandescent/magnetic low voltage dimmers and 0-10V controls are not the right match for this driver, so specify ELV or TRIAC on the control package.
6) How much light does a single Aragon mini-pendant put out, and how many do I need over a kitchen island?
Each Aragon puts out 1533 lumens at 15W with a flood distribution and 90 CRI. That is a general-light-level mini-pendant rather than a tight accent, so on a typical island two or three in a row carry the surface. The 90 CRI matters where color accuracy counts, like food prep or retail display.
7) Is the LED in the Aragon pendant replaceable, or is the whole fixture disposable when it fails?
The light source is a replaceable LED module driven by a universal driver, and it ships installed, so there is no lamp to buy separately. Rated life is 50,000 hours. For MRO and multi-family maintenance, that means a module swap rather than pulling and rewiring the whole pendant.
8) Do the alabaster shades on the Aragon pendants match each other if I order several?
Not exactly, and that is by design. The shade is faux Spanish Alabaster with an inner opal glass diffuser, and each piece is uniquely patterned like natural stone. Expect variation in the veining from shade to shade in a multi-pendant run. The structural hardware is aluminum.
9) Does the WAC Aragon pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, the Aragon PD-495 is CEC Title 24 compliant, which matters on California residential and hospitality permit sets. It is not Energy Star certified, and it is not an ADA-compliant fixture, so do not specify it where a protruding-object ADA restriction applies.
10) Is there an installation guide for the WAC Lighting Aragon PD-495?
Yes, WAC publishes an installation guide for the Aragon pendant, and it is available as a PDF with the product data. Worth pulling before rough-in, since the cable drop is set with push-pin connectors at the canopy and the driver lands inside that canopy.
