1) Which WAC track heads does the PAR30BD barn door fit?
The PAR30BD barn door is made for WAC Lighting 178 and 188 track heads used on WAC Impulse track and display fixtures. It will not fit other WAC head series, so check the head model stamped on the fixture before ordering.
2) Can this barn door accessory be used in a covered outdoor area or a bathroom?
Damp location rated and both UL and cUL Listed, so a covered exterior soffit, a canopy, or a bath is acceptable. It is not rated for wet locations with direct water exposure.

The PAR30BD is a Title 24 compliant and CEC listed accessory, so it does not take a WAC track head out of compliance on a California job.
4) What does a barn door do on a track head, and would a louver or snoot be better?
The PAR30BD has adjustable solid metal flaps you swing in to block spill light and cut glare off a wall, artwork, or merchandise display, and you can shape the beam edge asymmetrically. A louver or snoot only shields the lamp from view straight on and does not let you crop the beam on one side, so for retail display and gallery aiming the barn door is the accessory that gives you control.
5) Is the WAC PAR30BD barn door metal or plastic, and will it hold up near a hot lamp?
Construction is solid metal with an aluminum base material, not plastic, which is what lets it sit directly at the lamp aperture on LED and low voltage track luminaires.
6) Do I need an electrician to install a WAC PAR30BD barn door?
No wiring is involved. The barn door is a field accessory that clips onto the front of the 178 or 188 track head, so a maintenance tech can add it to existing heads without touching the track feed.
