Canopy LED 12V Path and Area Light with 8.5in Round Cap 3000K

Simple, clean and efficient. The Tiki Path Light provides a wide sweep of light in a minimalist design that will blend into any landscape. Both the dome-shaped shade and stem are made out of a durable die-cast aluminum. This path light is powered by bright long lasting integrated LED's and can conveniently tap into any existing 12V landscape lighting system. Factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. Casted using a special k-alloy aluminum that is engineered to withstand the most challenging environments over time. Solid brass coated in bronze (-BBR finish) may be available for enhanced protection against corrosive elements and is recommended for use in coastal or marine environments. Includes a 9in mounting spike (Guardian Spike sku # 9000-SP9-BZ sold separately for more durable mounting) and a 3ft lead wire with two gel filled direct burial wire nuts. A magnetic or electronic power supply is required (sold separately) for 12V fixtures. A variety of accessories are sold separately for additional mounting options.

1) Can the WAC 6051 Canopy path light run off my existing 12V landscape lighting system?
Yes. The 6051 Canopy path light taps into an existing 12V landscape run, with an input range of 9-15V AC, 50/60Hz. It draws 6.5W. You do need a magnetic or electronic power supply (transformer) for the 12V circuit, and that is sold separately. It also holds constant lumen output against voltage drop, which matters on long runs with several fixtures downstream.
2) Which finish of the WAC 6051 path light should I use on a coastal or oceanfront property?
Use the Bronze on Brass version, 6051-30BBR. It is solid brass coated in bronze and WAC recommends it for coastal and marine environments because of the corrosion exposure. The Black on Aluminum (6051-30BK) and Bronze on Aluminum (6051-30BZ) are cast k-alloy aluminum, which is fine for ordinary inland landscapes but not the choice where salt spray is in play.
3) What is included with the WAC 6051 path light, and what do I still have to buy?
In the box: a 9 inch mounting spike, a 3 foot lead wire, and two gel-filled direct burial wire nuts, so you can make the splice to the main run without extra parts. Not included: the 12V power supply, and the sturdier Guardian Spike (9000-SP9-BZ) if you want more durable mounting than the standard spike. Other mounting and glare-control accessories are separate as well.
4) Is the 6051 Canopy path light dimmable?
Yes, it dims smooth and continuous, but only on a Magnetic Low Voltage (MLV) dimmer. Pair it with a magnetic transformer and an MLV-compatible control; an electronic low voltage or standard incandescent dimmer is not the specified control for this fixture.
5) Will the 6051 Canopy light survive sprinkler spray and pressure washing?
It is factory sealed and water tight at IP66, which covers high-pressure water jets, so irrigation overspray and washdown are not an issue. It is UL and cUL 1838 listed and rated for wet locations.
6) How much light does the Canopy 6051 put out, and how far apart can I space them on a walkway?
Delivered output is 225 lumens at 90 CRI from the integrated LED, with the 8.5 inch round cap throwing a wide, even sweep through a translucent lens rather than a hot spot. That is a soft accent level, so for continuous coverage on a path, plan fixtures closer together than you would with a higher-output bollard. Rated life is 60,000 hours.
7) Is the 6051-30 a warm white or a neutral white?
The 6051-30 is 3000K, a warm white that reads clean against stone and concrete. All three finishes, black on aluminum, bronze on aluminum, and bronze on brass, are offered at that 3000K temperature, so you can mix finishes across a property and keep the color consistent.
8) Will the included spike hold the Canopy path light in loose or sandy soil?
The standard 9 inch spike that ships with it is fine in normal compacted soil. In loose, sandy, or frequently disturbed beds, step up to the Guardian Spike (9000-SP9-BZ), which WAC offers for more durable mounting. Other mounting accessories are available if you are setting the fixture into hardscape instead of soil.
9) Can the LED be replaced when it fails, or is the whole fixture throwaway?
The LED is integrated and the fixture is factory sealed water tight to achieve its IP66 rating, so there is no field-replaceable lamp. Plan on fixture replacement at end of life. Rated hours are 60,000.
