Canopy LED 12V Path and Area Light with 6.5in Round Cap 3000K

Simple, clean and efficient. The Tiki Path Light provides a wide sweep of light in a minimalist design that will blend into any landscape. Both the dome-shaped shade and stem are made out of a durable die-cast aluminum. This path light is powered by bright long lasting integrated LED's and can conveniently tap into any existing 12V landscape lighting system. Factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. Casted using a special k-alloy aluminum that is engineered to withstand the most challenging environments over time. Solid brass coated in bronze (-BBR finish) may be available for enhanced protection against corrosive elements and is recommended for use in coastal or marine environments. Includes a 9in mounting spike (Guardian Spike sku # 9000-SP9-BZ sold separately for more durable mounting) and a 3ft lead wire with two gel filled direct burial wire nuts. A magnetic or electronic power supply is required (sold separately) for 12V fixtures. A variety of accessories are sold separately for additional mounting options.

1) Can the WAC 6053 Canopy path light run off my existing 12V landscape lighting system?
Yes. The 6053 Canopy is a 12V low-voltage fixture that taps into an existing landscape run. Input is 9-15 VAC, 50/60Hz, drawing 5.8W (9.4VA). It does need a magnetic or electronic power supply, which is not included, so if you already have a transformer with capacity left on the run you can splice this in with the included 3ft lead wire and the two gel-filled direct burial wire nuts.
2) Is a transformer included with the 6053 path light or do I need to order one separately?
No transformer ships with it. A magnetic or electronic power supply is required for the 12V fixture and is sold separately. Size the transformer against 9.4VA per fixture when you total up the run.
3) Which finish of the WAC Canopy path light should I use on a coastal or oceanfront property?
Go with the Bronze on Brass version, 6053-30BBR. That is solid brass coated in bronze, and WAC recommends it for coastal or marine environments where salt air attacks aluminum. The Bronze on Aluminum (6053-30BZ) and Black on Aluminum (6053-30BK) are die-cast k-alloy aluminum, fine inland but not the pick on the shore.
4) Does the 6053 Canopy light come with a stake, and is the included spike good enough for hard ground?
A 9in mounting spike comes in the box, which is enough for typical planting beds and loose soil. For compacted or rocky ground, or anywhere the fixture gets bumped by mowers and foot traffic, WAC points to the Guardian Spike 9000-SP9-BZ as the more durable mounting option, sold separately. Other mounting accessories are also available separately.
5) Will the 6053 Canopy hold up to sprinkler spray and pressure washing?
It is factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating, which covers high-pressure water jets as well as rain and irrigation overspray. It carries UL and cUL 1838 listing and is rated for wet locations. The LED is integrated and the fixture is sealed, so there is no lamp to change and no gasket to re-seat.
6) How much light does the WAC 6053 put out, and what color temperature?
Delivered output is 225 lumens at 90 CRI, from a 6.5W integrated LED with a 60,000 hour rated life. The 6053-30 is 3000K, a warm white that reads natural on stone, mulch and plantings. WAC builds the Canopy in 2700K as well if you want a warmer tone to match existing fixtures. The dome shade throws a wide, low sweep for walkway and bed lighting rather than a tight spot.
7) Will voltage drop at the end of a long 12V run dim these path lights?
The Canopy holds constant lumen output against voltage drop and accepts anything from 9 to 15 VAC, so fixtures at the far end of a run stay matched in brightness to the ones near the transformer. That tolerance is what lets you daisy-chain several down a walkway without tapping different transformer terminals.
8) What size is the cap on the 6053 Canopy path light?
The Canopy uses a 6.5in round cap over a die-cast aluminum stem. The dome shade with a translucent lens spreads light evenly downward and outward, which is what gives it the wide sweep along a path instead of a hot spot directly beneath the fixture.
