A state-of-the-art LED 12V cylinder light made for challenging installations where 120V connections are not available. The Estrella Cylinder wall light can conveniently adapt to an existing 12V landscape lighting system, making it the perfect solution for outdoor applications including pergolas and cabanas. 1) Can I wire the WAC Estrella 3611 wall cylinder to a 120V junction box?
No. The Estrella cylinder is a 12V fixture and needs a magnetic or electronic 12V power supply ahead of it. It accepts 9-15V AC input and draws 7.5W (13VA). WAC's stainless steel landscape transformers are the recommended feed: 9075-TRN-SS (75W), 9150-TRN-SS (150W), 9300-TRN-SS (300W), or 9600-TRN-SS (600W). That low-voltage requirement is the whole point of the fixture, it goes where no 120V connection exists, like a pergola or cabana ceiling.
2) Will the Estrella 12V cylinder survive on an oceanfront property?
It is cast from a k-alloy aluminum specifically intended for corrosive environments, and WAC recommends it for coastal and marine use. The housing is factory sealed and IP66 rated against high-pressure water jets, with a wet location rating and UL/cUL listing. For a property manager standardizing on salt-air buildings, that combination is the reason to pick this over a standard painted-aluminum landscape fixture.
3) Do I have to order a separate part number for 2700K versus 4000K on the Estrella cylinder?

Use a magnetic low voltage (MLV) dimmer on the line side of the transformer. With an MLV dimmer the Estrella dims smoothly and continuously down to 10 percent. It is not rated for ELV or standard incandescent-only dimming, so specify MLV when you spec the control. There is also mechanical brightness control on the fixture itself if you just want to trim output at commissioning.
5) What comes in the box with the Estrella 3611 cylinder, and what do I still have to buy?
You get the complete fixture with the factory-sealed LED already in it, a hardware pack, two Ideal direct burial wire nuts, and 10 feet of low voltage burial cable. The lens is frosted glass.
