A state-of-the-art LED 12V monopoint light made for challenging installations where 120V connections are not available. The Estrella monopoint light can conveniently adapt to an existing 12V landscape lighting system, making it the perfect solution for outdoor applications including pergolas and cabanas. Two mechanical dials located at the side of the cylinder feature color temperature adjustability from 2700K warm to 3000K warm white to 4000K cool white with smooth and continuous integral brightness control. 1) Can the WAC Estrella 3831 monopoint run off an existing 12V landscape lighting system?
That is exactly what the Estrella 12V monopoint is built for. It takes 9-15V AC input at 7.5W (13VA), so it ties into an existing low voltage landscape run without pulling a new 120V circuit. A magnetic or electronic 12V power supply is required. WAC's stainless steel outdoor transformers are the recommended match: 9075-TRN-SS (75W), 9150-TRN-SS (150W), 9300-TRN-SS (300W) and 9600-TRN-SS (600W). The fixture ships with 10ft of low voltage burial cable and direct burial gel filled wire nuts, so the splice to the main run is covered.
2) Will a standard LED dimmer work on the Estrella 12V monopoint, or does it need a specific type?
It dims on a magnetic low voltage (MLV) dimmer only, and it goes smooth and continuous down to 10%. Pair it with a magnetic transformer and an MLV-rated wall dimmer. On top of that, the fixture itself has an integral brightness dial on the side of the cylinder, so you can trim output at each head without touching the dimmer at all.
3) Can I change the color temperature on the Estrella after it's installed?
Yes, and without swapping anything. Two mechanical dials on the side of the cylinder set color temperature at 2700K warm, 3000K warm white or 4000K cool white, and the second dial handles brightness. That is the whole reason it is one SKU instead of a dozen: you set the look on site to match the rest of the property rather than ordering a fixed-Kelvin head.
4) Is the Estrella monopoint rated for a fully exposed coastal install, or just covered areas like a pergola?
Both. The housing is cast from a k-alloy aluminum specifically engineered against corrosive elements and recommended for coastal and marine environments. It is factory sealed water tight, IP66 rated against high pressure water jets, carries a wet location rating, and is UL and cUL 1838 listed. Covered pergolas and cabanas are the common use, but exposed salt air is within what it is built for.
5) Can I wire the Estrella 12V monopoint straight to 120V line voltage?
No, and doing so will destroy it. The Estrella is a 12V fixture with a 9-15V AC input window and requires a magnetic or electronic 12V power supply between it and line voltage. If there is no low voltage supply on site, you need a transformer such as the 9075-TRN-SS or larger before this fixture goes in.
6) Can the beam angle be adjusted on the WAC 3831 Estrella, or is it a fixed flood?

9) Does the WAC 3831 Estrella meet Title 24 for a California project?
