WAC Lighting FM-35424-BK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Lighting Mobius FM-35424 be mounted on a wall instead of a ceiling?
Both. The Mobius semi-flush fixture can be mounted on a ceiling or a wall, and in any orientation, so the looping light strip can be turned to suit the space. No separate wall kit is involved.
2) Will the Mobius FM-35424 run on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The Mobius LED fixture accepts 120/277V at 50/60Hz, so it drops onto either a 120V residential circuit or a 277V commercial lighting branch without a different part number. Draw is 28 W.
3) What dimmer type works with the WAC Mobius FM-35424?
It dims on ELV from 100 percent down to 10 percent, or on TRIAC from 100 percent down to 5 percent. If you want the deeper dim, spec a TRIAC (forward phase) control. The driver is built into the canopy, so there is no remote driver to find a place for.
4) How much light does the Mobius FM-35424 put out, and is it enough for a hospitality entry or corridor?
Delivered output is 1979 lumens at 3000K with a CRI of 90, from 28 W. That is a warm-white, high color-rendering output in the range of a decorative accent or feature fixture rather than a primary general-lighting source, so plan it as a focal piece over a table, entry, or stair with other layers carrying the ambient level.
5) What finishes does the WAC Mobius FM-35424 come in?
Two: Black (FM-35424-BK) and Chrome (FM-35424-CH). Both are the same 3000K color temperature, so the only choice is the metal body finish, and the chrome reads cooler next to polished-chrome plumbing or trim while black stays recessive against a dark ceiling.
6) Is there a color temperature option on the FM-35424, or only 3000K?
3000K only. Both orderable versions of the Mobius semi-flush are built at 3000K, so if a project spec calls for 2700K or 3500K this fixture will not meet it, and you cannot field-change it.
7) Why do two Mobius fixtures from the same order not look identical?
That is expected. The looping mobius strip is handcrafted, and WAC states variation between pieces. If you are installing several in one sightline, a facilities or design reviewer should know up front that the loops will not match piece for piece.
8) What is the Mobius FM-35424 diffuser made of, and can the LED be replaced?
The body is metal with a flexible silicon (silica) diffuser that forms the loop. It is an integrated LED fixture rated for 50,000 hours, so there is no lamp to relamp; at end of life the fixture is replaced rather than re-lamped. Worth knowing for MRO buyers planning maintenance cycles.
