1) Will the WAC J2-T connector work with standard single-circuit track?
No. The J2-T is built for WAC's J 2-Circuit Track collection, which carries two switchable circuits in one extrusion. A single-circuit J track section has a different conductor arrangement, so you need the matching 2-circuit track and 2-circuit fittings throughout the run. Operating voltage is 120V.
2) How much ceiling space does the WAC J2-T T connector take up?
The connector body measures 7 inches long by 4.25 inches wide and sits 1 inch tall off the mounting surface, matching the track profile height. Allow that 7 x 4.25 inch footprint at the junction point when you lay out track lengths, since the connector occupies that space rather than the track.
3) Can I use this WAC track T connector in a covered exterior walkway or bathroom?
No. The J2-T is rated for dry, interior locations only. Covered exterior soffits, walkways, and shower or tub zones need damp or wet rated equipment. It's safety listed UL and cUL for indoor dry use.
4) Is the WAC J2-T connector a plug-in part or does it need to be wired in?
Hardwired. The J2-T is a hardwired 120V component, so installation is an electrician's job on a permanent branch circuit. It is not a cord-and-plug portable fitting.
