1) What does the WAC J2-LE live end connector actually do in a track run?
The J2-LE is the power feed for a WAC J 2-Circuit track system. It caps one end of the track and brings the 120V branch circuit wiring into the track, so the run is energized from that end. It is hardwired, not a cord-and-plug feed, so it has to land on a junction box or supply wiring run by an electrician. Note it is a component only, not a complete system, so track sections, fixtures and the dead end at the far side are separate orders.
2) Will the J2-LE live end work on single-circuit WAC J track?
No. The J2-LE is built for the J 2-Circuit track profile and carries both circuits through its contacts. Single-circuit J track takes the single-circuit live end instead. Mixing the two will not seat or feed correctly, so match the connector to the track series already on the ceiling.
3) Is the WAC J2-LE track connector rated for outdoor or damp locations like a covered patio?
Interior dry locations only. The J2-LE carries a Dry location rating and is listed for interior use, so it should not go on a covered porch, a bathroom with shower steam, or a parking structure. It is UL and cUL listed, which covers both US and Canadian installs indoors.
4) How much space does the WAC J2-LE live end add past the end of the track?
It is a compact end cap: 4.75 inches long, 1.82 inches wide and 1 inch high, with a backplate of the same 4.75 x 1.82 x 1 inch footprint. The 1 inch height keeps it close to the ceiling plane, which matters when the track is running tight to a soffit or beam. Allow for that 4.75 inch length beyond the last section of track when you lay out the run.
5) What finishes does the WAC J2-LE live end connector come in, and can I match it to my existing track?
Two finishes: black (J2-LE-BK) and white (J2-LE-WT). Order the one that matches the J 2-Circuit track sections already installed so the feed end disappears into the run rather than standing out at the wall.
6) Can the J2-LE live end be flipped to feed from either side of the track?
No, it is not a reversible-mounting component. Orientation is fixed, so plan the supply side of the run before you set the junction box. If the feed has to come in from the opposite end, mount the J2-LE at that end instead of trying to invert it.
7) Is the WAC J2-LE connector Title 24 or Energy Star compliant for a California job?
The J2-LE does not carry Title 24 or Energy Star compliance. It is an unpowered 120V feed component, so compliance on a California project is driven by the luminaires and controls on the track, not by the live end. Spec the fixtures accordingly.
