WAC Lighting WAC-J2-BXLE – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the WAC J2-BXLE live end connector work on single-circuit J track?
No. The J2-BXLE is built for WAC's J 2-Circuit Track collection, so it belongs on 2-circuit J track only. A single-circuit J track run needs a single-circuit live end feed instead.
2) Is the WAC J2-BXLE hardwired or does it plug in?
Hardwired. The J2-BXLE live end feeds power into the track from a junction box connection at 120 volts, so it needs an electrician and a box at the end of the run. If you want a cord-and-plug feed, this is the wrong part.
3) Can the WAC J2-BXLE live end be used on a covered patio or in a damp bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry, interior locations only. For a covered outdoor soffit or a wet-area ceiling you need a fixture and feed rated for damp or wet locations, not this connector.
4) Does the WAC J2-BXLE include the track, or do I order that separately?
Separately. The live end connector is a component, not a complete system, so your order still needs the 2-circuit J track sections, any couplers or corners, the heads, and the end caps. The live end is only the powered feed at one end of the run.
5) What finishes does the WAC J2-BXLE live end connector come in?
Two: black (J2-BXLE-BK) and white (J2-BXLE-WT). Pick the one that matches your track extrusion so the feed end does not read as a different part on the ceiling.
6) How much of the ceiling does the WAC J2-BXLE cover and how far does it drop below the track?
The backplate measures 5.88 inches wide by 1.82 inches deep, and overall height is 1.5 inches. That 1.5 inch profile is the maximum height of the assembly, so it sits close to the ceiling and the 5.88 inch plate is what covers your outlet box opening.
7) Is the WAC J2-BXLE UL listed for a commercial job spec?
It carries UL and cUL safety listings, which covers both US and Canadian installs. Note it is not Energy Star and not Title 24 compliant, so if your California project is chasing Title 24 credit, that comes from the fixtures and controls, not this connector.
8) Can I mount the WAC J2-BXLE live end on a wall instead of the ceiling?
The connector is not reversible-mounting, so plan on it going in one orientation at the end of the track run over the junction box. Body is aluminum.
