1) What does the WAC J2-X connector do in a track run?
The J2-X is a four-way X connector for WAC's J 2-Circuit track system. It joins four track sections at a single point to form a cross or plus-shaped layout, carrying both circuits through the junction so each branch can still be switched independently. It is a connector only, not a complete lighting system, so track sections, a power feed and heads are ordered separately.
2) Will the J2-X fit WAC single-circuit J track or Halo/Juno track?
No. The X connector is built for WAC's J 2-Circuit track and its two-circuit conductor arrangement. Single-circuit J track and other manufacturers' track profiles use different conductor layouts, so use a connector made for the system already installed.
3) Can the J2-X connector be used on a covered patio or in a damp area?
No. The connector is rated for interior, dry locations only. Covered exterior soffits, bathrooms with steam exposure and similar damp areas need a fixture and track system rated for that location.
4) How much ceiling space does the WAC J2-X X connector take up?
The connector body measures 7 x 7 x 1 inches, with a 1 inch height off the ceiling matching the track profile. Plan your four track legs to break 7 inches back from the cross centerpoint on each side, and confirm you have clear ceiling at that intersection before laying out the run.
5) What voltage is the WAC J2-X 2-circuit X connector rated for?
120 volts, hardwired. It is a line-voltage component, so it goes on a 120V branch circuit with the two track circuits fed from separate switch legs if you want independent control.
6) Is the WAC J2-X X connector UL listed for commercial installs?
It carries UL and cUL safety listings, which covers both US and Canadian jurisdictions. Note that it is not Title 24 compliant and not Energy Star rated, so it will not help on a California energy-code submittal.
