1) What does the WAC Lighting JX X connector do in a J Track run?
The JX is the four-way (cross) connector for WAC J Track. It joins four track sections at a single point so a run can branch in both directions off one intersection, and it passes power through at 120V. It is a hardwired component, not a plug-in piece.
2) Will the JX connector work with Halo or Lightolier track?
No. The JX is built for WAC Lighting's J Track system only, which is the J-type (Juno-style) profile. It will not mate with an H or L series track section. Match the connector to the track family already on the ceiling.
3) Can the J Track X connector be installed in a covered outdoor breezeway or a wet area?
No. The JX is rated for dry, interior locations only. Covered exterior spaces, bathrooms over a tub or shower, and anywhere exposed to moisture need a fixture carrying a damp or wet rating instead.
4) Does ordering the JX X connector give me everything I need for a track run?
No. The JX is a single component, not a complete system. You still order the J Track sections, a power feed or end feed, mounting hardware for the track, end caps, and the heads themselves. The connector only joins four track legs and carries 120V through the intersection.
5) What finishes does the WAC JX track connector come in, and can I match it to existing track?
Three finishes: Black (JX-BK), Brushed Nickel (JX-BN), and White (JX-WT). For a property with multiple suites or units on the same spec, order the connector in the same finish code as the track sections so the intersection does not stand out mid-run.
6) Is the WAC JX connector UL listed for commercial jobs?
It carries UL and cUL listing, which covers both US and Canadian installs. It is not ADA compliant, not Energy Star, and not Title 24 compliant, so on a California Title 24 job the compliance has to come from the fixtures and controls on the run, not from this connector.
7) Can the JX connector be flipped to work either orientation on the ceiling?
No, it is not a reversible-mounting part. The body has one correct face to the ceiling, so plan the layout around that rather than expecting to invert it to make a run line up.
