WAC Lighting WS-W63524-27-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Jordan WS-W635 outdoor wall light mount to a standard 4 inch junction box?
Yes. The Jordan WS-W635 is a hardwired wall-mount sconce, and WAC includes a decorative conversion plate so the backplate covers and mounts to a standard 4 inch junction box. The driver is concealed inside the backplate, so no remote driver location is needed.
2) Will the WS-W635 Jordan sconce run on 277V commercial power?
It will. The Jordan WS-W635 carries a universal voltage driver rated 120-240-277V, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits. That lets you standardize one part number across a mixed-voltage property instead of stocking two.
3) Is the Jordan WS-W635 wall light rated for direct rain exposure or only covered porches?
Direct exposure is fine. The Jordan WS-W635 is ETL and cETL Listed for Wet Locations, which covers unprotected walls where rain hits the fixture, not just covered entries. The aluminum body uses a weather-resistant powder-coated finish and the light engine is factory sealed.
4) Do I have to pick the color temperature when I order the WAC Jordan WS-W635, or can I set it on site?
Both options exist. The Jordan WS-W635 has built-in selectable CCT with 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K settings, so you can pre-select the temperature when ordering or adjust it in the field at install. Useful on a multi-building job where you want 3000K at residential entries and 4000K at service doors off the same fixture.
5) Does the WAC Jordan WS-W635 meet ADA projection requirements for a corridor or egress path wall?
Yes, the Jordan WS-W635 is ADA compliant, so it can go on walls along accessible routes and exterior circulation paths where protrusion limits apply. It is also CEC and Title 24 compliant, which matters for California exterior lighting permits.
6) What dimmers work with the WS-W635 Jordan LED sconce?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. The Jordan WS-W635 is not compatible with magnetic low voltage or 0-10V control, so if the exterior circuit is on a 0-10V or DALI system you need a different fixture or a control interface. On ELV or TRIAC the dimming is continuous.
7) How much light does the 29W Jordan WS-W635 put out, and will one fixture cover an entry?
The Jordan WS-W635 draws 29W total and delivers 2208 lumens with a flood beam spread, throwing light up, down and back off the concave backplate. At 90 CRI colors and finishes read accurately, which is why it gets specified for hotel and multi-family entries rather than just utility doors. For a standard single entry door one fixture beside the opening is typical; wide facades usually get a pair flanking the door.
8) If the LED fails in the Jordan WS-W635, do I have to replace the whole fixture?
No. The Jordan WS-W635 uses a replaceable high-powered LED module rather than a potted board, so the light source can be swapped without pulling the sconce off the wall mount. The module is rated 50,000 hours and ships installed, so nothing extra is needed at first install.
9) Is the WS-W635 Jordan Energy Star certified?
The Jordan WS-W635 is not an Energy Star listed fixture. It is CEC and Title 24 compliant, so if your rebate or spec requires Energy Star specifically this one will not qualify, but it does satisfy California exterior lighting code.
10) Is there an installation guide for the WAC Jordan WS-W635 wall sconce?
Yes, WAC publishes an installation guide PDF for the Jordan WS-W635, available at https://zensupply.com/content/pdf/wac-lighting/installation-guide-e45e1a.pdf. Worth pulling before rough-in since the fixture is hardwired and the driver sits in the backplate.
