WAC Lighting WAC-5222-27 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What color temperature is the WAC 5222-27 wall wash, and will it match my existing warm white landscape fixtures?
The 5222-27 is a 2700K fixture across all three finishes, so it reads as warm white and will blend with other 2700K path and accent lights on the same property. If the rest of your scheme is 3000K, the 2700K output will look visibly warmer alongside it, so keep one color temperature per zone rather than mixing within a sightline.
2) Does the WAC 5222-27 run on line voltage or do I need a landscape transformer?
It is a 120V fixture, so it wires to line voltage and does not run off a 12V landscape transformer. If your site is already built around a low voltage transformer and 12V runs, this is the wrong fixture for that circuit, you would need a line voltage feed in conduit to the location instead.
3) What finishes does the WAC Lighting 5222-27 adjustable wall wash come in?
Three finishes are offered on the 5222-27 wall wash: Black on Aluminum (5222-27BK), Bronze on Aluminum (5222-27BZ), and Bronze on Brass (5222-27BBR). The two aluminum-body versions are the usual choice for general landscape and wall-grazing work; the brass-body Bronze on Brass version is the one to specify where the fixture sits in a coastal or high-corrosion environment and you want a brass housing under the finish.
4) What is an adjustable wall wash fixture used for versus a fixed accent light?
An adjustable wall wash like the WAC 5222-27 aims a broad, even sheet of light across a vertical surface, a facade, a privacy wall, a hedge, rather than putting a tight beam on one object. The adjustability lets you set the aiming angle on site after the fixture is mounted, which matters because wash quality depends on the distance off the wall and the tilt. If your goal is to pick out a single tree or a statue, a narrow beam accent fixture is the better tool; use the wall wash where you want the whole surface lit without hot spots.
5) Is the WAC 5222-27 a landscape line fixture or an architectural wall sconce?
It belongs to the WAC Landscape family and is an outdoor wall light, so it is specified as part of an exterior lighting layout rather than as a decorative interior sconce. That matters for procurement on a multi-building or multi-family property, since you can standardize the same 2700K 120V wall wash across buildings and stock a single finish for replacements.
