Function meets durability with this LED 3in inground well light available in 12V or 120V and 2700K or 3000K color temperatures. A mechanical dial at the base provides smooth integral brightness control and the Mini Wall Wash (SKU # 5021) includes a Second mechanical dial to toggle between 2700K and 3000K color temperatures. One sku fits most applications, eliminating the need to choose from dozens of light bulbs with varying light outputs when compared with traditional landscape lights. This wall wash is factory sealed and water tight with an IP66 rating for protection against high-pressure water jets and outdoor elements. Includes a 9in mounting spike for 12V fixtures (120V fixtures require Sku# M6000-STAKE, power stake sold separately), and a 3ft lead wire with two gel filled direct burial wire nuts. Casted using a special k-alloy aluminum that is engineered to withstand the most challenging environments. 1) Does the WAC Lighting 5022 wall wash need a low voltage transformer?
No. The 5022 is the 120V line voltage version, wired directly at 110-120V AC, so no magnetic or electronic power supply is needed. That requirement applies to the 12V fixtures in the family. It is a hardwired fixture and ships with a 36 inch lead wire plus two gel filled direct burial wire nuts.
2) Does a mounting stake come with the 120V WAC wall wash light?
No stake is included with the 120V version. The 9 inch mounting spike ships with the 12V fixtures only; for the 120V 5022 you order the M6000-STAKE power stake separately. Other mounting and glare control accessories are also sold separately.
3) Can I put the WAC 5022 wall wash on a standard dimmer switch?
Not a wall dimmer in the usual sense. Dimming on the 5022 is on-board only: a mechanical dial at the base of the fixture sets brightness, from 3.5 up to 14.5W. The description also notes smooth continuous dimming with a magnetic low voltage (MLV) dimmer. Unlike the Mini Wall Wash 5021, there is no second dial for switching color temperature, so pick 2700K or 3000K at the order.
4) Which finish should I specify for a coastal or oceanfront property?
Go with the solid brass coated in bronze option, ordered as 5022-30BBR. WAC recommends it for coastal and marine environments because brass resists corrosive salt air better. The black (5022-30BK) and bronze (5022-30BZ) versions are cast k-alloy aluminum, which is fine inland but not the pick on the water.
5) Will the WAC 5022 wall wash survive irrigation spray and pressure washing?
Yes. It is factory sealed and water tight to IP66, which covers high pressure water jets, and it carries a wet location rating along with UL and cUL listing for outdoor use. The lens is clear glass.
6) How much light does the WAC 120V wall wash put out and how wide is the beam?
980 lumens at full output, from a single integrated LED drawing 3.5 to 14.5W. Beam angle is 80 degrees with 85 CRI, which is what makes it a wall wash rather than a tight accent spot. Dial it down at the fixture if 980 lumens is too hot on a light colored facade.
7) Can I match the WAC 5022 to fixtures already running 2700K on the property?
Not with the 5022 as configured here. Every orderable combination is 3000K, in black, bronze, or solid brass coated in bronze. The series is built in 2700K as well, so if the rest of your scheme is warm white you need the 2700K part number rather than a 3000K unit.
8) Is the WAC LED wall wash acceptable for California Title 24 projects?
Yes, the 5022 is listed as Title 24 compliant and ADA compliant. It is not Energy Star rated. Rated life is 50,000 hours on the integrated LED, which matters because the LED is not a replaceable lamp.
9) What are the dimensions of the WAC 5022 wall wash fixture?
It measures 4.38 x 3.75 x 6.13 inches (length, width, height). Small enough to tuck into a planting bed at the base of a wall, but check your spike or surface mount clearance since the 120V unit needs the separate M6000-STAKE.
10) Can the lamp be replaced when the LED fails in this WAC wall wash?
No. The light source is an integrated LED, one per fixture, supplied in the unit with no socket or replaceable lamp. Rated life is 50,000 hours; at end of life you replace the fixture.
