WAC Lighting T24-WE-Y-BK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the WAC Lighting T24-WE-Y Y-connector actually do in a 24V LED strip run?
The T24-WE-Y is a 3-way Y-connector for WAC Lighting 24V LED strip light. It splits one feed into two branches so a single run can break into two directions, for example around a corner of cabinetry or at a tee in a cove. It is a connector only, not a strip section and not a power supply, so you still order the strip, the driver, and any other run accessories separately.
2) Can this WAC 24V strip light Y-connector be used outdoors, or is it interior only?
It is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, and it belongs to the WAC Landscape family, so it is intended for exterior strip runs as well as interior cove and cabinet work.
3) Will a 24V strip Y-connector work on a 120V line-voltage tape light?
No. This is a 24V low-voltage accessory and it belongs on the secondary side of a 24V driver. Line-voltage 120V tape light uses its own connection system, and putting 120V through this connector is not a substitution you can make. Confirm your strip is the 24V WAC type before ordering.
4) What finish does the WAC T24-WE-Y strip light Y-connector come in?
White is the finish offered. On an outdoor run against light stucco, soffit, or white cabinet interiors it disappears; if the strip is mounted in a dark channel the connector body will read lighter than the extrusion, so plan the splice point where it is not in direct sight.
