1) Will the WAC Lighting LED208 Summit track head fit standard J-type track?
Yes. The LED208 Summit ACLED head is built as a J track fixture, so it mounts to J-type (three-circuit style) track. It is not an H or L track head, so it won't seat in those rails without the correct adapter track system.
2) Does the LED208 track head run on line voltage or does it need a separate low-voltage transformer?
It runs straight off 120V line-voltage track. The ACLED (AC LED) design puts the driver in the head, so no remote transformer or low-voltage feed is needed. Wattage is 15W per head, which makes load math on a track run simple.
3) Can the Summit LED208 track head be used in a covered patio or bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry interior locations only, so keep it out of covered exterior soffits, open patios, and shower or tub zones where damp or wet rating is required. For those areas specify a damp or wet listed track head instead.
4) Does the LED208 meet California Title 24 for a residential lighting permit?
It is not Title 24 compliant, so it won't count toward high-efficacy lighting in a California Title 24 scope, and it is not ADA compliant for protruding-object requirements. It does carry UL and cUL safety listing and is Energy Star rated.
5) Can I aim the Summit LED208 head, and will it clear a shallow soffit?
Reversible mounting is built in, so the head can be oriented either way on the track and aimed. Overall it measures 3.25 inch diameter with a 7 inch maximum height and 4 inch width, so allow at least 7 inches of clearance below the track plane for full travel.
6) Will the LED208 dim on my existing track dimmer?
The head is dimmable on 120V. Because the LED driver is integral to the fixture rather than a remote low-voltage supply, match the dimmer to an LED/ELV-compatible type and confirm the minimum load of the dimmer against the 15W per head draw. A single head on a large-capacity dimmer is the usual cause of flicker.
7) Do I need to buy lamps separately for the LED208 track head?
No separate lamp. The Summit LED208 ships with an integrated LED module, one light source per head, rated 50,000 average hours. There is no socket or screw base, so when the module reaches end of life the head is replaced rather than relamped.
8) Does ordering the LED208 head get me a working track system?
No, the head alone is not a complete system. You still need the J-type track sections, a feed or power connector, end caps, and couplers or connectors for the layout. Order those to match the track length and circuit configuration of the run.
