1) Will the WAC Lighting LED810 Impulse track head fit my existing track, and does it come with the track?
The LED810 Impulse is a J-track head, so it drops onto J-style (three-circuit style) track only. It is a head by itself, not a complete system, so the track sections, feeds, connectors and end caps have to be ordered separately. If your building already runs J track, the head snaps in with no rewiring; if you are running H or L track, this head is the wrong fitting.
2) What voltage does the WAC LED810 low voltage track head run on, and do I need a separate transformer?
The head runs off a 120V track circuit. It is described as low voltage because the LED module is driven at low voltage internally, but the driver is built into the head, so there is no remote transformer to mount. Feed the track at standard 120V line voltage and the head handles the rest.
3) Does the WAC Impulse LED810 meet Title 24 or ADA requirements for a commercial job?
No on both counts. The LED810 is not Title 24 compliant and is not ADA compliant, so it will not carry a California Title 24 lighting compliance form on its own, and it is not the head to use where a fixture has to meet ADA protrusion limits. It does carry UL and cUL safety listings for use in the US and Canada. On a California commercial project, work with your electrical engineer on the compliance path before specifying these.
4) What color temperatures and CRI options does the WAC Impulse LED810 come in?
Color temperature runs 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K, and you pick either 80 or 90 CRI when you order. For hospitality and residential, 2700K matches incandescent warmth. 3000K is the usual retail and gallery choice. 3500K and 4000K read cooler and suit offices and commercial spaces. If the heads are lighting merchandise, artwork or food, take the 90 CRI option, since color rendering is what makes the goods look right under the beam.
5) Are the LED810 Impulse track heads dimmable, and what dimmer do I use?
Yes, the heads dim. They use an integrated LED module rather than a lamp, so pair them with an LED-rated dimmer matched to the driver type and confirm the dimmer's minimum load against your total connected wattage. A single 14.5W head on a dimmer rated for 150W of LED sits well below most minimum load thresholds, which is the usual reason a single-head run flickers or will not dim smoothly.
6) Do I have to replace the whole WAC LED810 head when the LED burns out?
The LED810 uses an integrated LED module, so there is no socket and no lamp to change. Rated life is 60,000 hours. At 12 hours a day of retail operation that is roughly 13 years of service before the module reaches its rated point, which is why these get specified in ceilings that are awkward to reach.
7) How big is the WAC Impulse LED810 head, and how far does it hang below the track?
The head measures 3.13 inches in diameter, 3.38 inches long, and stands 7.38 inches at maximum height including the stem and track adapter. That 7.38 inch figure is the number to check against a low ceiling or a soffit condition, since it is how far the assembly projects below the track when the head is aimed straight down.
8) Can the WAC LED810 track head be aimed up to graze a wall or light a ceiling?
Yes. The head has reversible mounting, so it can be turned to throw light upward as well as down, which is what you want for uplighting a beam, grazing a textured wall, or bouncing light off a ceiling plane. Aluminum housing keeps the heat off the LED in either orientation.
