1) Will the WAC JHT-180L track head fit my existing J-type track?
Yes. The JHT-180L is built as a J Track fixture, so it mounts to J-series track. It will not drop onto an H-style or L-style track run without the matching track type, since the adapter is specific to the J track profile.
2) Do I need a separate low voltage transformer for this WAC track head?
No. The JHT-180L runs off a 120V track circuit and carries its own step-down for the MR16 lamp, so it connects directly to standard line-voltage J track with no remote transformer in the run.
3) Can I use the JHT-180L track head in a covered exterior walkway or bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of covered exteriors, showers, and anywhere subject to damp or condensation. For those spots you need a wet or damp rated fixture.
4) Can this WAC low voltage track head be dimmed, and what dimmer type?
It is dimmable on ELV (electronic low voltage) control. A standard incandescent/TRIAC forward-phase dimmer is not the right match; specify a reverse-phase ELV dimmer for the circuit.
5) Does this WAC track head meet California Title 24 and CEC requirements?
Yes on both. The HT-180 head is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant, and it is also ADA compliant, which matters on projects where fixtures fall within protruding-object limits. It is UL and cUL listed. It does not carry an Energy Star listing.
