1) Will the WAC JHT-808L track head fit my existing track, and what track type does it need?
The JHT-808L is a J-track fixture, so it mounts to J-series (Juno-type) track only. It will not seat in an H-type or L-type track channel. Confirm your run is J track before ordering.
2) Does the WAC JHT-808L track head come with a bulb, and what lamp do I need to buy?
No lamp is included. The JHT-808L takes an MR16 lamp on a GY5.3 bi-pin base, rated up to 50W. Order lamps separately with the heads so the job isn't held up.
3) It's a low voltage head, so do I need a separate transformer?
No external transformer is needed. The JHT-808L connects to a 120V track circuit and steps the power down for the MR16 lamp at the head itself, so it drops onto a standard line-voltage J track run.
4) Can the JHT-808L be used in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom with a shower?
No. The HT-808 head is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of exterior soffits, covered walkways, and wet or damp areas like shower zones. Those openings need a damp or wet listed fixture.
5) Can I put this WAC low voltage track head on a dimmer?
Yes, but it has to be the right dimmer. The JHT-808L is rated for ELV (electronic low voltage) dimming, so pair it with an ELV-rated control. A standard incandescent or MLV dimmer is the wrong match and can cause flicker or buzz.
6) Does this WAC track head meet California Title 24 and get past an inspector on a commercial job?
The JHT-808L is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant, and it is UL and cUL listed for the US and Canada. It is also flagged ADA compliant. It is not Energy Star rated.
