1) Will the WAC HHT-808L track head fit my existing track, or do I need WAC H-track specifically?
The HHT-808L is an H-track fixture, so it mounts to WAC H-series (three-circuit H style) track. It will not seat in a J/L style or Halo/Juno style track channel. If your run is anything other than H track, you need a head built for that channel instead.
2) Does the WAC HHT-808L track head come with a bulb, and what lamp does it take?
No lamp is included. The HHT-808L takes an MR16 lamp with a GY5.3 bi-pin base, rated to 50W maximum. Order lamps separately and stay at or below 50W.
3) Can I use this WAC track head in a covered patio or bathroom with a shower?
Dry location only, indoor rated. That rules out a covered exterior soffit, an unconditioned porch, or a wet area like a shower enclosure. For a bathroom it is acceptable only outside the wet zone. Damp or wet locations need a fixture carrying that rating.
4) Can the WAC HHT-808L low voltage track head be dimmed, and what dimmer type?
Dimming is ELV (electronic low voltage). Pair it with an ELV dimmer, not a standard incandescent/TRIAC wall dimmer, or you may get flicker or buzz. Confirm your lamp is dimmable too, since none ships with the head.
5) Is the WAC HHT-808L track head approved for California Title 24 jobs?
Yes. The HHT-808L is listed as Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, which is what a California inspector looks for on a lighting submittal. It is UL and cUL listed, and ADA compliant. It is not Energy Star rated.
6) How much does the HHT-808L track head hang down from the track, and how much clearance do I need?
Allow for a 6.5 inch overall height, with 6.25 inches maximum height in use, and a 2.75 inch diameter head. Overall footprint runs 4.5 inches wide by 3 inches long. In a low-ceiling retrofit or anywhere near a door swing or upper cabinet, measure that drop before committing.
