1) Will the WAC Lighting HHT-826 track head fit my existing track, or do I need a specific track type?
The HHT-826 is built with an H-style track adapter, so it mounts on H track only. WAC also offers the Dune head in J/J2 and L track configurations, so if the run in your ceiling is J, J2, or L track, order that version instead. The adapter is not interchangeable once the head is in hand, so identify the track profile before you order.
2) Does the WAC HHT-826 track head come with a bulb?
No lamp is included. The HHT-826 takes an MR16 LED lamp with a GY5.3 bi-pin base, ordered separately. The socket is ceramic bi-pin, and the built-in transformer has a 1W minimum load, so a low-wattage LED MR16 will still drive properly. A clear glass lens and screw-on lens cap are part of the head.
3) Do I need a separate low voltage transformer for the WAC HHT-826?
No external transformer or remote magnetic supply is needed. The transformer is concealed inside the Dune head itself, in a polycarbonate case, and the fixture feeds off 120V line voltage from the track. That is what makes this a drop-on head for a standard 120V track run rather than a fixture requiring a low voltage track system.
4) Will the HHT-826 track head work on an ELV dimmer, and how low will it go?
The HHT-826 dims on ELV (electronic low voltage) control, down to 15 percent. Pair it with an ELV dimmer, not a standard incandescent/TRIAC forward-phase dimmer, and use an MR16 LED lamp rated for dimming. If the room is already on forward-phase dimmers, the dimmer gets swapped as part of the job.
5) Can I use a WAC Dune low voltage track head in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom with a shower?
No. The head is Dry Location Listed and rated for indoor use only, so it is out for damp or wet locations, covered exteriors, and shower or tub zones. It is fine over a retail floor, a hotel corridor, or a residential living space. Ambient operating range is -4F to 104F (-20C to 40C), which covers unconditioned indoor space but does not make it a wet-location fixture.
6) Does the WAC HHT-826 meet California Title 24 and CEC requirements for a commercial job?
Yes on both. The HHT-826 is CEC Listed and Title 24 Compliant, and it is also listed ADA compliant. Certification is UL and cUL, Dry Location. Those are the four lines a spec reviewer on a California project or an institutional submittal is going to look for.
7) How much can the WAC HHT-826 head be aimed once it is up on the track?
350 degrees of horizontal rotation and 90 degrees of vertical tilt, adjusted with a loop back aiming arm you grab by hand. That is enough travel to wash a wall from a run centered in the room or to spot artwork off-axis from the track. On a retail reset you can re-aim the whole run without tools.
